MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 9:05 PMIf you look at the Weyland Timeline, there's a strange little curio concerning a " device able to temporarily restart brain activity of deceased individuals".
Funny that...
Let me back up a moment and take a walk through the timeline...
It's covered quite a few things we've seen in the previews, such as the medi-tube thingy, the armaments (rifles, etc) , David, and oh yes, the
now investment opportunity to shoot for the stars and find ...well...our doom I suppose. Regardless, the timeline is hinting at the things that will come and we will see.
I'll be brief...
So what of this brain resuscitator?
Who might be in need of this thing?
My conjecture is possibly Weyland. He's older than dirt, and will possibly be on the Prometheus - all 95 years of his wrinkeld old (possibly dead) ass.
Perhaps he's keeping this "thing" called Vickers alive. Possibly his daughter, assistant, MOM or .. creator? (read Beowulf -Grendel's mom...?)
Thoughts please ....

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 9:21 PM@fab5fred,
I really don´t expect to see Scott playing George Romero. But....
It would be exciting if the "exploding head" scene were related to this technology you just reminded us.
On second thoughts, this perspective could be exactly the reason the crew brought the helmet (with a head inside) back to Prometheus!
Connected to the "dreamcatcher" technology many people think David uses on the hypersleeped crew, maybe the people on Prometheus can extract valuable information from the deceased Engineer head.

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 10:28 PMI thought you were getting at something else. Like: maybe the new snake climbs inside you, and if it doesn't kill you immediately, it fastens to your spine/brain and controls your mind, making you its angry zombie servant until the eggs it lays in you hatch. Or maybe until you become some other creature. Seems like one possible theory on Fifi's strange behaviour of late.

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 10:56 PMyou are referring to the "synapse re-establisher"
it's what Shaw uses (either before of after) she has that
awful emergency cesarian and births that squid-like creature
at least, that is my own personal hunch

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 11:02 PMthat is interesting, and especially since we've seen most of the gadgets featured in the viral sites in the trailers...it gives that much more credence that this will show up.
This one could be used in any number of scenarios. I personally think Weyland is on ice until the sh*it hits the fan. Maybe it's used in some other case

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 4:50 AMwell with the magic goo we dont need any device for activating brain cells any more..it just transforms..

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 5:16 AMI doubt it. It says the device restarts brain activity... zombies aren't exactly known for their functioning brains.
I'm with centrosphere on this one. They're probably going to use the device on the head they bring back to the Prometheus. Remember the hologram-style images we see of the running engineers? I'm guessing this is some sort of retrieved memory.

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 5:27 AMWhat if they find a dead Space Jockey and use it on that? This is the one that we see alive and kicking and the jump start to it's brain makes it see out it's "mission"

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 5:34 AMi dont think i would like someone restarting my brain of my head was chopped off, especially if it made it explode.

MemberDeaconMay-03-2012 1:15 PMThere will be Zombies in this movie.... have you seen and know what a Zombie is...
They are not meant to be the undead, just dead as in their brains.
See Haitian Zombies
I think what we see with Fifield is a Zombie in that sence, the Organism or some supstance effects him and he loses his brain controll he is no longer the same man, he is as far as mental state just how Zombies in the Zombie movies act.
So yes the Organism/Substance could turn crew into a Zombie Mutant, so like Half Life Zombies as opposed to George A Romero ones. (only not having a external head crab, but a internal controlling Organic Parasite).

MemberDeaconMay-03-2012 1:20 PMMy theory.... and one that would explain potential of two Andriods.
Weyland said David is his perfect Son, apart from a soul and he could imply that he is not really a living being but a advanced robot.
David 8 and Synthetics would not age, they may indeed live for hundreds of years or more.
I think the brain resuscitator is a way that Weyland plans to transfer his memories his thoughts and thus his living Brain into a Andriod Mechanical one.
Only one peice of the puzzle is missing Weyland may beleave that by combing as i said above with the secret the Engineers have about creation and modify Organisms (the Fire) Weyland can steal the Engineers fire, use it on a Andriod with the brain resuscitator to give Weyland a Andriod Body that is Bio Mechanical and truely living.
A bit like Pinocchio only image Pinocchio father wants to find some waty of transfering his own soul into the body of Pinocchio so he can live on forever.
