Vickers = Eve (as in Adam and...)?

No too long ago, a sci-fi mag interviewed Charlize Threron, where she was saying that she (without the other actors) was located at some natatorium in Spain to work on what R.S. termed the "beginning" . You know, the waterfall scene with the weird being looking at his/her hastily healing scars... At any rate, with this clue, what exactly is Vickers? If she (possibly) was here at the "beginning" of mankind, what is she doing now...something like 30,000 years later...is she some kind of super being? Thoughts...(please)

Ripley8_David8 posted this thread awhile ago, asking a similar question. It's an interesting read and might have some answers you are looking for. :) Click-->Two Adams, Two Eves?

Why can't she just be a normal human being in Prometheus?

So you can have a reason for asking questions.

If by "beginning of mankind" you're talking about Homo Sapiens, the time frame is of the order of 50,000-100,000 years ago. "Behaviorally modern humans" developed around 50,000 years ago according to many although some view modern behavior as beginning with the emergence of "anatomically modern humans" (400,000-250,000 years ago). Then you've got all those pesky "other hominids" that pre-existed and co-existed with Homo Sapien (which we wouldn't want to count as "being human" lest it will upset any resemblance of us having a "beginning" anytime within the past 2.3-2.4 millions of years when the hominini decided to crash the party). We've been around quite a bit longer than the average person realizes. But for fictional purposes, a "beginning" of 30,000 years ago wouldn't raise too many eyebrows among most audiences. I wonder what "Adam & Eve" felt about all these other people when they came along shorty after "their Earth" was created at nightfall preceding Sunday, October 23, 4004 BC. Must have been quite a surprise to find that they weren't alone. LOL.

I think the premise of the thread is wrong , RS said in the comic con panel that he was in Iceland ( not spain ) to shoot "the beginning of time " ( on earth ) , with him there was Noomi but alot of the movie was filmed in Iceland ( i think all the outdoor scenes are from iceland while the begin of the movie is filmed in Scotland ). I dont remember something of Theron being connected with the "beginning of time" sequence .

Its Vickers voice thats says "a king has its reign, then he dies" I read that linked thread, and its interesting idea, but after reading other things written by production and special effects guys and the Cast list, the guy in the Water Fall is played by a actor who they use his likeness in his face for the close ups of the Engineers and the basis in my oppinion of the Statue, the actor looks like the Statue and he has exactly the same ears as the Water Fall guy. Does that make Water Fall guy the first Engineer? Does it make him Adam created in the Engineers likeness, did he create mankind and got found out and then his brothers dropped him off to rot on Earth as punishment but some how he managed to live longer than expected and passed on knowledge to mankind and also left us clues to his home? I guess we dont know, i am not sure that Vickers is a Andriod i think its a red herring.... i thought maybe David becomes or that some thing is created from him and thus makes another Synthetic... but again i doube that and now have good reason to say thats not the case. Maybe Weyland is the other Andriod? Maybe a dieing Weyland can fuse his mind and memory into the body of a Andriod and then hope that exploiting the Engineers gift of life/change formula the Andriod will become living. I think thats the ambition of Weyland, Eternal life by maybe fusing his synthetic creation with the Engineers Secret (Fire) to then use ths new more alive creation as a host for Weylands Brain well the contents of his brain.

Again the above is just one of my crazy theories but it has some logic and would fit in with some elements of the movie and explain some stuff. Maybe David knows the plans Weyland has and indends to stop it or sabotage it, hence the Vickers/David confrontation. Maybe David follows the plans of Weyland and Vickers tries to stop him. I think that scene is something related to the Agenda of what could potentially be done with the Fire of the Engineer Gods, maybe also connected with Weyland. But as for who is on which side of the fence/side from David/Vickers is unknown. I think Vickers would be portrayed as cold and with a agenda and again its a red herring and maybe Vickers turns out to not be a Andriod and indeed a good person at the end.

Vickers is indeed a red herring. She is not a 'synthetic' at all. It's been done and would be a cheap recycle of R Scott to make her character into a surprise android. Besides, what a terrible, ant-climactic surprise it would be because it would be too obvious from the start. She is 100% human, somewhat mysterious and probably has an altruistic death scene.

@BigDave; That is possible, remember in Blade Runner Eldon Tyrell (The big company in that movie) died and downloaded his consciousness into a replicant body. That was Rildey's original idea. Click-->Tyrell was originally a replicant too

I had no clue that Tyrell was a replicant. I guess replicants gush blood just like humans when they're getting their skulls and eye-sockets crushed inward.
