Is it just me, or is the countdown going slow?

I remember when it said 122 days... then 63, then 42... I thought I saw 42 days a month ago.. wth.. its taking to long.. on another note, I want to know who's dumb idea it was to have the giant human face in the film.. If there isn't a human form on the alien planet.. Why have a human face? If the space jockeys have a human face underneath, understandable. it still sucks.. They should of done an egyptian style face, with giger armor like the space jockey around it.. no lips, more teeth, showing through a thin layer of skin.
