Alien Resurection is the Best!

SEE.....lol I said yesterday that all the spinoffs were very entertaining. People put them down......but they still bloody watch em lol.

I am one of those who put Alien Resurrection down when compared to the other movies, but I can't really say that I dislike it. It is a silly movie, the aliens are not the best, the newborn is so bad that it would perfectly fit avp (or slightly improve them!), but the overall fail of the film is matched by its self-irony. It doesn't match the seriousness of the other movies, but one thing I like about the Alien saga is that every film is unique.

For a moment I thought this was a series post about the merits of Alien Resurrection. I actually tried to watch it yesterday but switched the bloody thing off. Its just dreadful from the crap effects to Winona Ryder's dreadful acting.

alien res and splice both took ideas i had written in school well before both movies :/ what sucks is the movies are both terrible so now when i actually finish my epic comic ive been slowly working on is finished im going to get "OH this part reminds me of alien resurrection!" meh. i guess ill have to do a few re-writes. i made a copper wire sculpture of my main character for an art class that was taken by the teacher and used in a local art exhibit without my permission. not saying all the similar ideas were stolen but lesson to anyone with good ideas, dont use them in class projects because teachers are dicks.

When the newborn licked mum's chin I turned it off, never watched it beyond that scene. Couldn't cope, not even when looking at it as entertainment.

I have to say I saw Splice for the first time about two weeks ago and I thought it was pretty well done Bella, doesn't make what you said any less valid, 'specially with your art teacher doing that, that sucks -_- but Alien Desecration just plain sucked, it wasn't anything like a horror movie and Ridley Scott was right when he said that the Alien had been worn out, by that time I reckon he had been too. It could have been good, but wasn't. I try to watch it and just get sick about 10 minutes in. Literally feel not good in my stomach.

belladonna@ that sucks. something similair happend to me. someone stole a riff and some text from me when he was in our rehearsal room listening and hanging out. concerning Alien ressurection.....jesus what shit that was. i tried to rewatch it a couple of months ago, couldnt take it. i just had it on for about 40 minutes and then i turned it of. lets not forget that before alien ressurection, whedon wrote for buffy the vampire slayer(i read it somewhere on the forum). not that its anything wrong with buffy....

I reckon many new fans of PROMETHEUS are going to be interested in seeing the other ALIEN films at some point too, to see how things panned out... But I wonder how this new generation of fans will feel by the time they've seen ALIEN RESURRECTION?, lol. Personally, I can only enjoy ALIEN 3 and ALIEN RESURRECTION if I reconcile them as merely being 2 'bad dreams' that Ripley is experiencing during her hypersleep home...

i didnt like splice cypher. for one i was SO damn mad that a lot of dren's physiology was too close to my character to ignore, especially the feet. my art teacher and others even stated how odd they found the feet on my sculpture and how neat and unique it was. and ripley bring experimented in space was HUGE on my character. it was about a military owned space station making many experimental creatures mixing alien DNA's together and many of them turned out completely unusable but stored for research. hmmm sound familiar :/ like the scene in alien res were she finds the room full of her clones, MEH! i even had an english teacher give me a D- on a bug story saying i stole it because it was too good for me to make myself. and then that bastard used most of it himself in a children's story he said he came up with, that was way back in about 5th or 6th grade. the new generation needs to learn to write stories in a journal and hide it until they can do something with it. if you come up with a good idea someone else will snatch it up and nothing you can do about it.

Well what I always say to my mates is how lucky we are that none of these *spin-offs* tried to explain or add the Space Jockey. I think Prometheus would be a very different film, or if it would be made atall.

i like bacon, but the bacon shake makes me want to hurl >_< but i dont like milk shakes anyway, so the dislike for milkshakes outweighs the the bacon aspect.

I don't think Alien Resurrection was that bad. Of course it wasn't revolutionary like the original masterpiece but it wasn't suppose to break new ground either. Instead of focusing on the negative aspects I prefer to see the positive ambition behind this movie. It's not fantastic but at least entertaining and I really liked the score.

Yeah it has great comedy elements in it, totally not out of place. Hmm...

Auriga Loved The "Spring Loaded Guns Up The Sleeves" Love, Just Loved, That we found out "They Swim" Loved and Had a Glee Attack From John Frizzel's Haunting Sound Track. Loved and almost died when I saw how amazing the alternate opening of that film is, one of my all time favorite film moments was getting that Quadrilogy DVD and seeing that for the first time, so much so that here...I want us all to see that together again...[url=http://youtu.be/zwCWzGje8Ds]GreatOpeningsInFilmHistory[/url] [/list]
