Are Humans & Xenos related?

yes and if you look at the first movie he is indeed some sort of humanoid. thats something people tend to forget after watching the sequels where he/they look more animal, crawling on all four. you could be right

even the facehugger fits perfectly on a persons head, as if it was made to do that to a human.

Yes korpen. Whilst there are obvious physical differences between us and them there are also obvious anatomical similarities too. Both bipeds, 4 limbs, torso, head, fingers, toes etc. All the same position. Could the answer may have been staring at us the whole time!!!??

it depends what you mean by related really, as the xenos are on the mural its possible theres a connection to the SJs, or it cold even be that that planet is the homeworld of the xenos and the Engineers eradicated them, only for us to somehow bring them back by accident. No one knows.

I have always wondered why the facehugger size perfectly fits humans. In the end it could be that they are related to humans in some way. On a different note, a few years ago I read an interesting scientific article about characteristic dimensions and evolution of advanced species: based on how life on Earth works (unfortunately we only know this much), on the physical laws the conclusion was that a living species can achieve bigger intelligence, high levels of self awareness and advanced technology if its dimensions were comparable to that of a human being (or better put: humans are within the dimensional range that allows all of the achievements). It has to be proved, of course, but it is an interesting POW. In this sense, the facehuggers could be used on most human-sized species. Surely the authors didn't know/think of this, so it's just wild speculation.

I believe that the "Humanoid" form of a life form other than human may as well be a universal standart for developed inteligence. It has a lot of advantages that the non-bipedel form have not. Considering that the "xenomorph" is indeed a creation of the SJs, it would be logical to give them a humanoid form [if the humanoid bipedel is a universal standart for civilizations across the universe, that is]. As to the facehuger, it is also of a logical consequence, no matter the size of the life form being face-rapped [the creatures grip is strong and it has a tail that chokes the victim, as seen on Alien].

yes maby. but i dont think there was an answer to begin with. but years of sequels and fans pushing for it, made, ridley i pressume, to come up with one. about the physical similarity. why would alien life resemble us at all? separated by light years in space, its quite unlikely. but maby "two legs, two arms, head on top of torso" is a evolutionary winner in the cosmos, who knows.

The actual body structure could just be given by the host species, the size could be indeed universal standard. The humanoid form has some advantages, but we really don't know if there are other shapes that could be as efficient. And then there is Star Trek, where alien means human with some funny props on the head.

What surprises me is the method of impregnation: the introduction a a tube through a mouth via suffocation. Even if human size is a standard is the head size/form and the respiratory system combined to that of a tube in the head and connected to the stomach.

Humans have been successfully genetically engineering animals for centuries. Horses to exploit there strength and endurance. Dogs to create more aggressive cross breeds, harnessing different species valuable traits and combining them. Definitely not out with realms of possibilty that the creators/engineers have been tinkering around with our DNA and by accident or design humans combined with something else could manifest itself as a crude early xeno 1.0

I agree the compatibility in the lifecycle makes it seem that being related is a distinct possibility - I find this more realistic* than the idea of a creature which can gestate in random unrelated hosts. Parasitic relationships in nature usually imply some sort of co-evolution, but in this case possibly engineered. [size=1](* i know, i know, its only a sci-fi film)[/size]
