Interesting.....They did do it Aliens and if that scene was in any of the trailers and we had the internet back then where folks would be dissecting trailers, we might very well have thought Ripley had been face-hugged.......till we saw the movie.

Please no more Event Horizon and no more galaxy of terror. I want all the monsters and creatures are real and The only way that an indirect appearance is acceptable to me right through holograms IMHO.

Unless of course the nightmare of Shaw was a kind of prophetic dream and then I'm totally totally agree with you @arnis

It just seems to be way too much of a major event to show in previews.

I've seen the 'serpent' creature whose reflection as it thrashes makes it's single tail look like it could be tentacles... But alas, no squid creature in prometheus, but definitely a 'chestburster' type snake creature... with a single tail ;)

I, too, have wondered this.

The Shaws Baby is Squidlike, well its Octopus like. The Orginal Alien Script Face Hugger came out of Leathery Urns and as described as a Octopus like Organism. I think Ridley has taken that design from that Script to use as the Basis of the Shaws Squid Baby scene. I was told by someone that there is a Proto Xeno that has two tenticles and thats what is attacking Shaw and kills most of the crew off, then again this person also said the movie has 4 Jockeys in it and it may have but not 4 alive ones. But after seeing the Cobra Xeno and the Jockey Head Explode Scenes, i think that another Cobra Xeno type Organism escapses from that head and it is that which goes after Shaw so its just a Cobra thingy jumping up at the Door.... then again it looks more like a Tenticle so who knows.

Don't know if this is a dream or not... Just seems too unlikely since Shaw doesn't even know how the alien cycle works. When Ripley had this dream she already knew about this... Just seems like an unlikely coinsidence that Shaw is having a nightmare about this since this is exactly what would happen if she got impregnated.
