Final scene should be......

I think Ridley would be missing a HUGE fan moment at the end of Prometheus if he doesn't briefly hint at or show the derelict scene on LV-426.....can you imagine how nuts the audience will be if that happens?? It would bring down the house.....final shot is of the chestburster starting to break through the SJ's ribcage/suit....cut to black and then audio only with the sound of the SJ in agony and wailing followed by the crunch of the chestburster breaking out and then the quintessential baby Xeno shreik!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be identical to the last scene in AvP. I think he wouldn't want to mimic that film.

The problem is that all the AVP serie was made to appease fans/geeks ... and it did fail ....

I agree...I wouldn't be surprised if the ending was close to this. However, I have the feeling that Peter Weyland is going to be the one inside that jockey suit, giving birth to the first chestburster. You'd never watch Alien the same way, knowing it was him inside there!

That would be a pretty cool possibility. I like the idea. He may even go one better maybe. He might include a little piece of footage at the 'tail'-end of the film credits. Sorry, I couldn't resist the punn! Again we'll see.

that would be unbelievably predictable...as is proven in that we've all considered that ending at some point. i still believe that the "hint" toward the events in Alien will be a subtle glance at something that we didnt actually know about, but will understand how it relates to the derelict, SJ, planet from Alien, when we see it.

It wouldn't work at all for me (or Ridley hopefully).

@astubbindeck "I have the feeling that Peter Weyland is going to be the one inside that jockey suit, giving birth to the first chestburster. The ending of AVP being similiar is a stretch at best, plus AVP isn't a consideration here. Sometimes you have to give the fans some red meat, like the old B Horror movies did in the 50's.....The Tingler is loose in the theatre!!!!

I don think that will happen...imo not when you have all of these other creatures mutating and emerging...I think the xeno will not be a significant part of this story...but we may see HOW it came about.....RS has expressed in some interviews that the xeno is a little spent...he's run his course then again he could be lying....but as always, FUN TO SPECULATE

Maybe Riley will continue to tease us as he may leave the origins of the Space Jockey STILL unresolved! he may in fact leave te 'origin unanswered until perhaps subsequent films and it is at the end of some later films as was the case for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where the last five-or-so minutes connects to dots to Star Wars: A New Hope. That would be an equally excruciating wait as well! It could happen though. Maybe over a series of up-coming films the answer may only then be truely known.

All the comments sound reasonable, but I still feel that punctuating Ridley's reign as THEE "Alien" director by paying homage to his first and greatest SciFi adventure by coming full circle would be epic. This then would definately put an end to the Alien franchise and the classic Xeno as we have known it. The concept has resolution and a completeness about it that should be delivered.

I agree that the "Jockey" sat in the chair from Alien will indeed be a human and not a Space Jockey, that'd be a massive twist and a good way to tie into the Alien franchise. . .

Xenophobe has it as well...I also thought that the thing inside the Alien SJ suit would be human...perfectly resolute and complete that way. No wiggle room then for beating a dead horse or wondering about the original Alien universe...set a course for the new Prometheus Universe:O)

In some ways though, it would be both intriguing yet at the same time dissapointing that the SJ would after-all have some sort of 'Human' connection. On the one hand it is compellling to see where that would go yet I would love the idea that'he' (SJ) represents a complete and total ALIEN who's origins result and reside from somewhere in the depths of the universe. Otherwise it kinds of makes the point of the film franchise: "ALIEN" defunct because what is it all about throughout the entire frnachise if it is not about ALIEN's in and throught the universe. I would hope that there is some explanation of 'us' as Humans, Space Jockies, Engineers (probably SJ's as well) and Xeneomorphs (maybe a thread of them are originally based somewhere else, while a considerable portion of them are bio-engineered also) and even a higher form above the fray in the form of the 'GOD' species to the SJ's/Bio-Engineers, Xeno's and thas microbial matter left over down the evolutionary gene pool: 'Us'!

Ridley and Co hinted a few things... The last 8 mins will tie in to Alien There is a scene on LV426 There will be 100% Alien DNA in that 8 min scene Alien Fans will get their wish and answers. Something regarding the Xenos, and seeing a new Rolling Stones Concert and you can always expect them to play a certain classic song even as a Encore. This all links to that they will show the Alien Derelict and what/how/why and when it happened to it.

I meant 'us' as 'us' - Humans. Then a thread/exploration of the SJ's and their origins. A third about the Xeno's and yet another about the crittical moment when all or at least some of the above mentioned disparate species cross-connected to become hybrid, cross-overs. Space Jockeis being kept as Space Jockies so we can still ponder where they cam from. Humans as humans so we can ponder about ourselves and where 'WE' truely came from. The Xeno's and where they came to be and from waht origin means, method and opportunity that got them 'created' and the mixing up of 'us' with 'them' and 'them' with 'those' over there and so on and so on.

@BigDave...i did not know that RS came out and said there would be a scene on LV426. and i simply can not get by this idea for the ending...it would be so disappointing and lacking creativity to me. and it does, most certainly, echo the end of AVP, which was an AWFUL movie, and very cheesy ending. Thats just what i have concluded but again we wont know till we see the movie. I think the link would be suptile, i dont even think we would see any Xenos etc. All it would have to do is give a Visual Narative much like the Water Fall scene. it would have to kind of hint either in that scene or from the early on Hologram/Ghost Jockey scenes what the intention of that mission was. The actual scene would only need to show the Derelict leaving LV223 or where ever and then fly near a small moon. It would then only have to show a glipse of the Egg Chamber with one Egg open. The rest well we could leave to our imagination, we would tell that the ship would end up on LV426 and the Pilot gets done for most likely be a escaped Face Hugger. But we dont have to see that. Like in Alien 3 and Resurection we dont actually see what happens on the Sulaco and how or where the Face Huggers got onboard etc. As far as the mention well Ridley said the movie will mainly be based around a new planet LV223 but i cant remember word for word but he did either say it will feature two worlds, or LV426. I just cant remember where i came across that, but it did hint at that. But then each to their own, some dont want this movie to have any link to Alien, they dont even accept that the Water Fall Guy/Blue Guy and Space Jockey are all the same. I just think we will see a seen that will explain/show the How/When/Why the Derelict headed for and landed on LV426 and maybe also about its Cargo and maybe what caused the ship to have to land and fate of its Pilot. But again in how much detail that would be we just dont know.

To each his or her own....I'm still old school on the classic shock and awe reveal of something known to be on the audiences mind. Booya!! They should even release remote controlled rubberized facehuggers into the theatre at the end....now that would make the audience dance:O) Old school baby.

There's no way that a human could be inside the SJ suit shown in Alien. The reason being is it's absolutely huge compared to humans; What do you guys think happened to the Alien that came from the SJ? Do you think it just died in a corner somewhere?
