If Ridley is trying to get away

Well, the 'blue man' scene near the waterfall of course has to be at the end of the movie because there's no water on that scale to be seen in the beginning of the film. The use of Weyland is the nod to the fan base If I recall Spaihts or Lindelofs comments correctly; one of them said words to that effect.

ForeverWar@ Ive been on this forum for a couple of months now...and i usually dont write on treads or post any myself. But recently ive started becuase i cant understand certain things people are writing. I dont want to be an idiot, and i dont want to offend anyone....But HOW do YOU know that the waterfall scene "of course has to be at the endof the movie becuase theres no water on that scale to be seen in the beginning of the film"? have you already seen Prometheus? FW has a point, I don't think waterfall scene is going to be at first. It is likely to be shown on flashback or say history or arrival of SJ on that planet and during that time they might show it. That's my view, not saying it has to be that way lol.

Korpen Let me do this easy here...I agree with Mark,waterfall-end of film..there is no water in the beginning of the film...virtually no sign of the large scale beach/ocean/water tank scenes done in Alicante...thats a LOT of water..nowhere to be seen in the trailers, any of them...I honestly don't know why you're asking this Even better regards :)

Its just that it has been a lot of wierd claims and statements around this film lately. I am sorry, i thought you were claiming it had to be at the end, since you said "of course it has to be at the end". Coudln't the water fall scene just be the SJ's visiting Earth thousands of years ago when their (SJ's) space faring technology of the time was rather saucer-shaped/UFO in its style and appearance as is in current popular culture. They some how 'influence us' (ancient alien theory/Eric von Daniken ideas) then leave as quickly as they arrived after setting in motion whatever it is that they to doinstigated by coming here to Earth in the first place. They await for the 'Grand Experiment' to play itself out to its ultimate conclusion (enter Prometheus franchise and any other sequel/prequels that may follow to expand the story/mythology and the Alien franchise in direct/indirect lnkage with the narrative as well). Then during the time from the water fall/giant saucer-shaped space ship floating the 'first arrivals' and their technology advance down the centuries/millenia to become that of the 'Juggernaught' design and technology in the 'Temple Mount' upon the planetoid LV-426 come Ancheron later-on in the story.

And the Bio-Engineers become more bio-enginnered themselves and far-removed from the 'types of beings' that the used to be. They in a sense may have lost something (their own version of our 'humanity' maybe. Perhaps thats waht inetrested them in coming here to Earth in the first place. They wern't quite so removed from being a free-feeling entity with emotions to explore and things like that. Its only later on the 'First-Arrivals' began to change, themselves and the technology around them until they had irrevertably reconfigured their entire way of life for ever to become the mask breathing Bio-Engineers/Space Jockey beings we see which perhaps were the ones near to the end of their race and of their entire species. Perhaps there was more at stake here than we fist gave the SJ's credit for. Perhaps they were in a desperate race against time to try and save whatever there was left of 'them' and in this regard they felt there was no other option but to take even more desperate measures to ensure their survival but the proceeding just keptr getting more and more out of hand and a s a result, they were then un able to put a halt to proceeding a bring an end to what they had set in motion. If it is greek mythology that this film is indeed based on with the likes of the films name Prometheus then the SJ's are really the epitomy of the greek tragedy wher-by things start off and just keep going from bad to worse as is in the case of Oidipus the King, Hamlet (insipred by greek tradegy) Othello and of Course: Rome and Juliet (also based upon greek tragedies). The SJ's 'Plight' serves as a parable to the rest of us and a warning about where as a race a civilization is going, should go and the concequence if it goes too far in an uncharted direction.

I have a very strong feeling that the waterfall/island scene happens at the beginning on ancient Earth shortly after the last ice age when the ice melted and the oceans rose.

I'm agreeing with Forever War as well. AND from the blue guy/waterfall shot we really have no idea of the scale of the things we're seeing. It's all speculation. (Which of course means Mark Cawley [i]could[/i] be right)
