I hope there will be no post alien creature designers on board

This place is filled with a lot of "Alien Only" type people. We also seem to attract an older crowd which might have something to do with it. Alien is a far more mature film then what followed it. Aliens is rambo is space with abandonment issues[along with it basically being a remake of alien for the action film crowd].

Total agreement... @Haydn, @Saw's-sweet-baby, @Shane and @David . Aliens always seemed to be Vietnam film smashed together with Green slime, Alien 3 was beautiful, but flawed from the outset and Resurrection was just so lacking it was empty for me... I want to see something new. What always gets me is the unsettling, super-powered whistle that came with the original Alien's appearance (apart from when Dallas sat next to it).

Im with Ridley Scott on this one - He is a huge fan of ALIENS and James Cameron.

Ridley Scott also said he likes the other Alien movies. Including Alien:R. He might have made 2 great movies but that doesn't mean his taste can't be brought into question. But I don't like action movies unless they are really really bad. Like Italian ripoffs of mad max bad. RIP MEGAWEAPON.

Seen 'The New Barbarians' Shane? Classic in the shit sense. But Red Dawn with Patrick Swayze was actually very good.

Don't get me wrong @Ender, Aliens was one of the better films to follow Alien. It just didn't tickle my intelligence, or maybe is was that scene of Ripley all sweaty like "pulling off grenades" into the queen's egg-sac. Like it was supposed to fit some teenage leg-shakin, self-topping, adolescent wet-dream instead of a living nightmare.

Yeah I understand why people don't like Aliens and I completely respect that, I just wanted to voice my opinion that I think its great and am happy that Ridley (my hero) likes it too :-)

@haydn...I totally agree...the creatures in A.2-A.4 are all shite. Period. All of em. the reason A.1 worked so well, was that THAT creature was sooo....perverse. AND organic. It looked real. You felt you could smell it, touch it. You thought it was in your brain. And it did get into most of our brains, and more. The others were just "costumes" with almost NO scare factor at all...

I never saw the Problem with Aliens the only movie i have problems is with Resurection.... for same reasons as..... If i was a dark haired average sized guy, who then ate too many McDonalds, and bleeched my hair blonde and covered head to toe in Tattoo's then i died by someone found my DNA and cloned me.... I would not be a fat blonde person covered in Tatts..... for the same reason i cant see how a pregnant persons DNA cant be made to make a pregnant clone? As far as the creatures all being S$£"% well they are all the same thing at the end of the day.... Take away the deleted Scene, what does the Alien do different to what it does in Aliens? Oh its more stealthy, well the Nostromo corridoors etc was not big, it was a bit tight... and also the Alien was on its own... If you was dropped behind enemy lines in Afghanistan you would be more cautious on your own, compared to if you had another 10 buddies. The Aliens Xenos also had brains, they was not mindless killing machines that some may thing they are.... Hey you may think the SJ is a inteligent being but it seems he also acts like a vissious killing machine more like the Terminator.

all 4 alien films are great. the thing is, you cant compare them to each other because the franchise developed. Aliens is based on Alien. Alien3 is based on the stories of Alien and Aliens..etc..its easy to pick one out now in 2012 and nail your opinion on it. You have to compare Aliens [i]when it came out.[/i] . Terminator , Robocop, Predator, Platoon, Highlander, Top gun.. its amazing looking at Aliens and getting the feel of the 80ies, I remember seeing Hicks and always thinking of Terminator.. Alien 3 has its own feel..man, these are all great.. and above all, its personal taste..

I prefer Terminator and Robocop to Aliens. Both ages far better.
