I just read in another post that the old man is Holloway (or somebody)....I'm confused, but gladly so. I want to be surprised. And, Soundgardenrule, welcome to the community!

I think the general consensus is that the old man is either Holloway or Weyland. If Holloway, then we see yet another riff from 2001. Dave Bowman being aged, dies, transforms. Holloway the same?

@Kronnang Dunn I am starting to think Logan-Marshall Green must have some excellent acting chops. I'm sure Scott would want only the best for such an important role. I wonder if Prometheus will do for him what Alien did for Sigourney Weaver? The other major cast members are either big names or already on the verge, like Rapace.

Well i went for the Not Holloway because.... Well we see the Hanger Scene, and in one Hanger scene we see the old guy with some Mercs and the Mercs are shooting at something and i assume this is the Fifield Mutant going berserk. We also see a scene where the crew are returning and Vickers is near outside with the Flammer, when she tells everyone back on the ship now. In another scene we see Holloway being carried by Shaw and Ford and then he falls to his feet, latter we see a shot of Holloway comming back to the ship with his hands raised, which i assume is to Vickers to say he is ok and not affected by what ever Fifield had. So i assume the crew come back with two casulaties Holloway and Fifield, and Fifield gets onto the Hanger and then goes Berserk.... the Mercs manage to take down Fifield and we see old man with them comming from within the Ship to the Hanger. We then see Holloway with his hands raised try to get back on the ship.... So i think this means that its not Holloway.
