MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 9:08 PMI realize this has been discussed on numerous other websites, but I have never been satisfied with theories and I was just wondering what ideas are out there. The first time I saw 'Alien', this scene shook me to the core. The second time I watched it, I realized that I hadn't seen anything!! R Scott brilliantly hid it from us and just let us hear Lambert's nightmare inducing screams. Then we see her legs (or maybe arms) dangling with blood running down them. She was clothed and wearing shoes. Lambert was the first human female the Alien had encountered. My question is obvious, did it just kill her, or something much, much, worse?!?! Btw, I can't sleep waiting for this film!!!!!! AAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 9:11 PMlisten to the commentary on the Quadrilogy Disc for the extended version...RS and VC themselves tell us all CLEARLY what is going on she is getting violated in the worst way imaginable, and they themselves clearly tell us it was the intention of that scene !!!

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 9:18 PMThis has been discussed here, too!
I am of the Alien did obscene things to her before she was killed party. In commentary to the DVD, Scott has implied a kinda sorta maybe possible alien rape of Lambert. When the character was still a man, he was torched accidentally by the Parker character when the alien used him/her as a shield. Scott has been purposefully silent on this leading to raging debates to this day.
But it really is left to the imagination. No question some of her clothes are taken off. Including Brett's sneakers that she somehow borrowed after he was killed and exchanged with her cowboy boots. That always cracks me up.

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 9:24 PMI'll go back and listen. I think I knew it in my mind, but hoped it wasn't true!! Veronica Cartwright is so good, what a terrible scream!! I know Prometheus is gonna be great, but I hope it instills that unbelievable sense of dread and claustrophobia that the original did. Thank you so much for the quick reply, I'll be breaking out the Quadrilogy again tonight!!

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 9:44 PMThat takes me back, my older brother worships King Crimson! The drummer in my band is also keen on them. My dad had that LP and the artwork used to scare me! Great record though.

MemberOvomorphMay-17-2012 2:48 PMFrom the commentary it appears the intention was to imply the alien raped Lambert.
If so, moving the footage of the alien moving his tail between Brett's legs to this scene of the attack on Lambert makes it even more disturbing (did the alien use this on her?).
