IMAX?

I never go to the movies, and I never have been to an IMAX theatre. I work 50+ hours a week and play in several bands (not to mention almost all Hollywood movies are complete sh*te). I am extremely excited about Prometheus but wanted advice from folks in the know. Is IMAX 3D the way to go for this film? Sorry for my ignorance, but I really have no clue, having never been before. If this has been discussed before, I apologize, I did search first. Any feedback?

If you re dedicated enough to wait in line 4 hours prior for an event like this (assuming you're going to the opening 12:01 AM showing), then IMAX 3D is the way to go because you can get a good seat towards the back 1/3 mark and center and have a terrific experience. If not, go see it in Real 3D. This comes from my experience of having seen lots of movies in both formats and getting good seats and bad seats. -abordoli (staff)

Thanks for the reply, yes we are going to a midnight showing. I think I would be hard pressed to find a better movie to experience my first IMAX 3D theatre!!

Try to be there at least 2 hours early.

I had never been to an IMAX before, but yesterday I decided to go and watch Dark Shadows because I knew it had the Prometheus trailer attached to it. It wasn't 3D, but I was blown away, I think it will be totally worth it to watch it in IMAX format! After the end of the trailer I felt satisfied, and Dark Shadows gave me a few good chuckles.

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.
