I just noticed what the # Of the Space Suit Locker Ripley Gets Into at the end Of Alien is. Does Anyone already know what it is before I tell you ?

Did you know?:
"The Narcissus is one of two shuttles attached to the Nostromo and is located under the port engine nacelle support. The Narcissus was the only operational shuttle in 2122, as the other one was out of order and in need of repairs. The Narcissus can support 2 people in hypersleep for extended periods."

spacejockMay 13, 2012
Not carbon dioxide. U can read the description of the gases on a list, then she opens the panel and presses the appropriate one

Iodine Pentaflouride!!!!
It was the very top button and that is the label on the cover that slides open.
Here is what was on the actual button:
IF(5)
Details:
Iodine pentafluoride is an interhalogen compound with chemical formula IF5. It is a fluoride of iodine. It is a colourless or yellow liquid with a density of 3.250 g cm−3. It was first synthesized by Henri Moissan in 1891 by burning solid iodine in fluorine gas.[3] This exothermic reaction is still used to produce iodine pentafluoride, although the reaction conditions have been improved.[4][5]
I2 + 5 F2 → 2 IF5
Uses:
Iodine pentafluoride is a colorless, viscous, highly corrosive liquid. It reacts violently with water, organic substances and other materials. It may be used as a mild fluorinating agent.

OK, let me rewatch because I think she used more than one button. First the very top one...and in your still, it looks like the 4th one as well.

spacejockMay 13, 2012
Abordoli, she presses that one first i think. lol but yea you found the list :))
abordoliMay 13, 2012
4th is Nitrosyl Chloride
Nitrosyl chloride is the chemical compound NOCl. It is a yellow gas that is most commonly encountered as a decomposition product of aqua regia, a mixture of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. The related nitrosyl halides nitrosyl fluoride, NOF, and nitrosyl bromide, NOBr, are also known.
NOCl is very toxic and irritating to the lungs, eyes, and skin.

I noticed that when Ripley is putting the space suit on in the end scene, there is a hieroglyphic similar to the ones they found in Prometheus.
