She's too cool to get killed.. Must be a character with some purpose and end of lifecycle in second part lol

I predict Shaw Murders her when she finds out Vickers is spying for Yutani and wants a sample of the creature for weapons development, {maybe even finds this out through David's mind/dream reading ability} and competition and revenge after the lost lawsuit on the corporate timeline for Weyland. And that took some digging and hard work to come up with folks ! I stick by it and am proud of it ! It could be completely wrong but I like it and am sticking with it and will be the first to laugh at myself later on when we all come back in here after seeing this thing.

David 1May 13, 2012
I hope everyone dies horrorbilly. Android(s) included.

Well if Yutani and Weyland are going to merge(in future as per the other storylines) then spying doesn't make sense. Hmm, must be some other agenda like taking the risk to bring creature to earth, risking lives of people on earth?

so article gives us an answer on a quastion that sirculates at this forum. Is it David's body and detached head or an empty suit lying next to blue guy. And what if Ridley ment "till [Vicker's] end"... =)

SpartacusMay 13, 2012
I think that's exactly it Sky I think that's always been it.."The Tech" ! "Terra-Forming" and "everything a Weapon Can do that's made out of that thing" !

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
I don't know, I like your theory Spartacus, but I don't see Shaw as being a murderer - but hey, I've not been knocked up with an alien creature, so I can't really comment on what that would do to you!
I think that she's there to ensure that they do what they set out to do, kind of like quality assurance, but that she has another agenda we've yet to see. Seeing as everything we've been told/shown about her depicts her as being detached and very 'corporate', perhaps RS will make her more nuanced and layered and once the s*** hits the fan, her human side comes to the fore?
I just think the hole Burke schtik's been done, why retread it?

SpartacusMay 13, 2012
IMO it ain't "murder" if it's done in the name of mankind and if you suspect something may be "OFF" with the spy your intend to kill, like say, she's a plant, or better yet, a hidden android. LOL. I still like it.

JuxtaposeMay 13, 2012
I think her character dies after the juggernaut runs her over....i hope it's not the case...we will definitely have her around till at least halfway threw the 3rd act...i think?...i don't think her character is all bad tho....she knows something the others don't and i think she might be related to Peter Weyland....she has an agenda that's for sure and she is the only one who does'nt seem very keen to meet "these beings".....like she really is hoping they are wrong...
they say it will be explained why she comes across as being so cold and frigid by the third act....should be interesting...but in the end she probably dies....booo hooo!....i like her!

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
No, I get that. It'll be interesting to see if she is an android - from what I've seen she's very survival oriented! That's be a first for an android from an Alien film, usually their programming gets in the way... but then again perhaps she's "more human than human" - if you catch my drift.

SpartacusMay 13, 2012
@Justapose,
very well thought out and interesting, thanks for sharing I like that too and it's "prolly" closer to true than my prediction.

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
Actually, having a wee bit longer to think about your idea, I can actually see Shaw becoming a bit more wild and fierce after being knocked up with that thing. We saw how fierce Ripley became after watching it decimate her crew, I can only imagine what having one invade you would make you do to survive!
As a woman, the very idea of the alien and what it does has always unsettled me, but at the same time fascinated me and it's part of the reason I love the films so much!
NoXWordMay 13, 2012
PIcture of Vickers instinctively protecting herself moments before being squashed by the space croissant?

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

SpartacusMay 13, 2012
I can't imagine what a forced and unwanted reluctant birth does/could do to a woman...any woman!

JuxtaposeMay 13, 2012
@ Spartucus...thanks....well the "Girl" on twitter seems to say that weyland is seeking eternal life and that Charlize is in fact his daughter...but she want's the mission to fail..so maybe she is not very close to daddy?...perhaps she even despises him!
Besides I suppose any thing based on what the twitter girl said..... can easily be fake....u should take it with a grain of salt!

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
Hey Charles - That's EXACTLY what i'm talking about, if she is indeed an android, she is the most interesting one I think we'll see. Perhaps more akin to a Replicant than a true android, she seems to display a will to live and protect herself unlike Bishop etc.

SpartacusMay 13, 2012
Charles Montgomery Weyland (aka NoXWord)
you need a link to it from a free picture hosting site first to put that up so we can see it.

FrantzMay 13, 2012
willy the coyote ending ? Can be but i find it a bit silly ( depend of course by many things ) ...rembember that in the script her would have been just a suit , a flat character . Surely Theron energy and ideas could have changed a bit ..but how much ?

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
That's exactly what I'm trying to get at Frantz. We're only seeing very brief snippets of the film, so perhaps initially her calm collected character is just another suit, but as the film goes on she has to step in more and more. We've seen her handling a flamethrower, so perhaps she has to step in when Fifield(?) attacks, due to her more pragmatic nature and the others perhaps being initially hesitant to act.

SpartacusMay 13, 2012
solid point Frantz, and I suspect your right, mine is the "Fringe" out there guess based mostly on Ridleys' Personality. I think wherever it is he decided to go with for the ending of this thing, we are all going to be surprised.

NoXWordMay 13, 2012
Frantz, in the end, if she's run over by the juggenaut she will end as a flat suit anyway.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
Loving the avatar by the way! I'm getting a very Mr Burns vibe from Mr Weyland if he DOES turn out to be the old guy in the film!

SkyMay 13, 2012
But.... charlize is too hot to die man :( please :D
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.
alterlaterMay 13, 2012
what if she won't die. what if rolling ship will stop rolling 1 inch before her? or may be she will be sucked in one of the ships holes? )))) RS knows what he's doing. we already love Vickers and we don't want her to die. it's what warm us up. and if she dies it will be more unexaptable for us than death of Burk for example =)

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
I'm sure she'll go out guns blazing, if she can manhandle David, as we've seen in the trailers, I don't think she'll give up without a fight. Hell, we don't even know that she doesn't make it, at this stage we know very little other than some people WILL die.
Shilliam WatnerMay 13, 2012
@ DippyBird
What if the reason she is able to manhandle David is because he is not resistent to violence and is passive in nature due to his programming? Kinda like Robbie the Robot in Forbidden Planet who would not harm or kill. When Vickers swings him around in the corridor, he doesn't show resistence and looks to be in submission.

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
Well that makes sense, given the precedence set by Bishop in Aliens. Perhaps the reason Ash was programmed to ensure the safety of the creature was precisely because David had failed to do so? That's an interesting point you've raised Shilliam. LOVING the name by the way!

Myrddin365May 13, 2012
She doesn't strike me as cold and aloof. She strikes me as someone who is one good "BOOO!" away from sheer panic. She doesn't want to be on this trip and she is terrified of what they will find.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
I'll agree that she probably doesn't want to be there - I sure as hell wouldn't want to be there in their position!

Myrddin365May 13, 2012
It would be fascinating to me until I found out they hated us/wanted to end our existence in favor of theirs.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

SpartacusMay 13, 2012
me too, and that would most certainly mean/involve a massive Terra-Forming of earth effort...

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
I should clarify that I would love to be there until it all takes a nosedive...

Myrddin365May 13, 2012
My contention is that Vickers NEVER wanted to be there. She was terrified to even GO on this mission.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

DippyBirdMay 13, 2012
Possibly, that might be why she does the whole push-ups in the middle of the night thing - part of a coping mechanism perhaps?
She does look a bit sleepless in some of the scenes, although that may just be me...
sukkalMay 13, 2012
@Myrddin365
That seems quite likely.
I think that at a minimum David and Shaw will make it out "alive".
David will have his head wrenched off by the sole surviving Engineer, but will be backed up Cylon style and will reappear in the next film somehow.
Shaw's DNA will have been modified somehow by her pregnancy with Cuddles to make her "special" and relevant to the next film. She's the Ripley character, after all.
My one question is about Vickers. I'm not sure yet if:
a) she's actually a synthetic
b) she's a clone (of Weyland's daughter or some such)
c) she's a plane ol’ human and buys it never to return
In either of scenarios A and B above, she's still back in the next film, even if the methodology is a little "cheaty."
Of course, I'm not a betting man...

Myrddin365May 13, 2012
If Vickers is synthetic, I wonder why she hates David so much. If he's the newer model, then maybe she feels threatened by him, but that seems pretty complex for this level of synthetic.
Some on this site speculate that she is an Engineer plant. If THAT'S the case, then Engineers might find inorganic intelligence intensely repugnant, hence the reaction to David.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!
