Space Jockey Suit

The suits that we have seen in the trailers and in the Alien movie makes them larger. I'm thinking this suit would be along the lines of the loader from Aliens. The suit increases their size, strength, and sensory perception. The suit would be bio-mechanical, and tie directly to the wearer's nervous system.

It's over 30 years later, Scott decided to avoid "uncanny alley" by going with live actors/prosthetics, and It just doesn't matter that it's different from what some of us expected. I'm going into this movie with an open mind. thirteen foot tall Sjs with elephant faces ( as opposed to masks ) might have worked, or they might have turned out to look incredibly lame. It's academic.
I personally think that in context, the Engineers will almost surely look plenty creepy enough. Say anything else about Ridley Scott that you like, but don't try to tell me his visual sense is anything less than impeccable.
A really effective film is all in the story, characterizations, art-assets, direction, etc. Those are the details that matter, not perfect, slavish continuity with an earlier movie which has, after all, always been his baby.

So you mean like the things we see in the hallway? And it sorta works like a mech but connected to there nervous system and makes them stronger etc.
or the chair thing, people speak of the chair as a suit so i have no idea but what's the point of super strength in a thing that just sits there :S

Maybe yes.... that would explain a potential cock up by Ridley.....
But then the Guy who gets into the chair has that suit put onto him....
The Engineers in the Hologram Scenes and the one that walks to the Chair seem to be about 9ft tall....
I am thinking maybe Ridley overlooked that those scenes of the Engineer confronting Shaw etc, we just would not be able to think that he is just the same size as the actor who plays them.
I think Ridley wanted to make them seem larger than Humans, hence rumours they was suposed to be 9ft tall... i think maybe Ridley overlooked this one aspect and maybe in hindsight should have done the LOR Hobits Trickery to make him seem a few feet bigger...
Unless.....
1) Ridley intended them to be only about 7-8ft and the suits make them 9-10ft.
2) Indeed maybe thats not a pure ancient Engineer but something or someone new....
3) That the Space Jockeys are suits just larger ones worn by another bieng that may look human or not, and that this Blue Guy was created as a slave and servent to the orginal Engineers.... but he had enough and killed them off?

I have two thoughts, neither of which is probably correct.
The original SJ in Alien is millions of years old, and at that point in time, the creatures grew larger much like prehistoric crocodiles and sharks were much larger than contemporary ones.
Alternatively, perhaps this SJ/engineer is an adolescent and not as large as he would someday be, if allowed to grow to full adulthood.

Alien facts; In the particular scene where the crewmembers climb the platform up to the sj chair, it is said that Ridley used children in suits to make the SJ appear even bigger.

Yes thats a nice fact...
So its a puzzle as to why Ridley never did anything to improve the Scale in this movie?
I mean he did go for a Tall Actor....
And i think maybe he thought the illusion of a 7ft1" Actor compared to about 5ft 2" or so Actress would create the illusion that the Engineer was bigger than 7ft and did not expect people like me to nit pick lol.....
Maybe he will look back it that in hindsight.... unless he meant for him to only be 7ft odd in this movie.... Then again did he mean to have Jeans in Gladiator?

People do come in many sizes folks.....so the Jockey in 'Alien' is the goliath of his kind...so what..........nothing's ruined, no logic is screwed up and we can all rest easy that our precious Jockey from 'Alien' has not been undermined or made to look TOO big...yeesh....

Maybe these are just smaller space jockeys, maybe he just changed the design and they were never huge 15ft things, i mean would that much thought of been put in way back in 1979?

wow, haven't thought about the loader in about a week since I went and watched the PS3 Trailer for "Colonial Marines"!!!
