But can they recognize them as individual beings?
Does David has self recognition or is he just a machine with high capacity of processing data?

Yeah, I have no idea what you are asking. Can androids distinguish between each other or are they some sort of hive mind?

Not 100% sure but since you like Androids, and frankly who doesn't, I will post a few links for you.
Here you go, very informative. :)

I think he means either do they know they are androids or can you tell them apart from a human/do they have there own personality, depends on what the they is.
The androids are just as if not way more intelligent than humans.

Is David self-aware? Clearly so. Even some animals are aware that they possess a separate, individual identity. Is he completely indistinguishable from a human being, in terms of behavior, movement, appearance, etc.? It looks like we'll get the chance to find that out the answer to that question in a few weeks. ;-)

@L.March Your question regarding David's sense of self recognition reminds me of an old Moody Blues track that used to trip me out a great deal regarding the topic of artificial intelligence, and our own sense for that matter. IMO of how life came to be; biology continues to evolve and creates mech intelligence that is not susceptible to disease and may venture farther out into stars and planets than ourselves, and it will eveolve beyond space and time to reboot the universe and create bio conciousness. The circle of life... Here is a link to "In The Beginning"

@L March
There seems to be a little confusion to your statement, at least I feel that way and could you please clarify a bit more and the confusion I have is who you mean by "they"

I think what L March was trying to say was:
"We all know that the androids have artificial intelligence...
But can they recognize themselves as individual beings?

Well it's obvious based on the viral video he can, he knows that he's not human but i think would still have a personality like us.

Is David a walking toaster or a sentient self-aware being? I think that is the question. Similar to the question, does a dog have feelings or a soul?
I think David is both a toaster oven and self-aware being, and outperforms humans at nearly everything.
His lack of connection to real human emotions and/or his desire to protect humans will be his undoing.
To keep him in the Frankenstein mold (the First Prometheus), David should be a better but somehow flawed copy of humans.
