Id just like to add.......when the helmet "MELTS" onto whoevers face.....theres no steam or smoke. Like its deconstructed rather than melting. This would suggest nano technology yes?

might just be me , but that does look like a belt he has hold of ! maybe I missing something but it looks like an axe in the back to me ? I think its the same axe Shaw has hold of in the clips we've seen !

@Mark Cawley I've been trying to square the appearance of the mutating Fifield with the scene of the melting helmet. I made a big leap, and assumed that the helmet was glass. Glass is commonly used to store and handle acids (in 2012). I cleverly conclude that the melting effect is not caused by acid. Fifield still has a head, so it's not intense heat, either. Your suggestion of some kind of nanotechnology doesn't sound so wacked.

Yes indeed the Glass is Smashed.... does that mean it gets smashed while he is attacking..... Having seen a new image today i think i know maybe who that dark figure is that confronts one of the Mechanics.... Mr. Facemelt and Mr. Fifield mutant are not one in the same, as the post above states. I'm not convinced Mr. Toasty here is Holloway though. I beleive Mr. Toasty and Mr. Facemelt are the same person. I believe Vickers will not let the obviously infected Mr. Facemelt back on the ship, and lets her flamethrower do her talking. @Mark: I believe you're on to something with your nanotechnology theory. Mr. Facemelt is being turned into something else, and whatever he is wearing is mutating along with him...
