How does your xeno origin theory work without time travel?

abiogenesis, i think the mostly likely guess with the available material, is that earth was seeded by aliens 100,000+ years ago. Then we go visit an ancient ruin of theirs on board the Prometheus, and some are still there in stasis. that doesn't have any time travel.

AvP is NOT canon, it's a shitty video game for kids.....does that answer your question?

AVP has very thin link to this universe....a skull in a predator ship in predator two. though the comic books and the games were neat.predators should just stay out of this whole discussion.

Thanks for the replies.
Otto, I wasn't thinking of any one, particular Prometheus-leading-into-Alien theory. But most such theories I've read here on this forum involve the juggernaut ship from Prometheus ending up as the derelict ship in Alien. For that to work, you'd have to explain how the derelict ship's SJ pilot becomes FOSSILIZED within a matter of 30-40 years.

I hate AvP. I don't even much like Aliens (Cameron sequel), and like I said in the OP, I would be happy if Prometheus doesn't even touch the xeno storyline.
But some are speculating that the xeno is the product of experiments and/or engineering done in Prometheus, for example, that the "squid" creature removed from Shaw is the origin of the "baby queen xeno." While interesting, I don't see how this can work without mucking about with time... Again the pilot of the derelict being fossilized.

@abiogenesis - Remember, that Jockey was actually a suit of some kind that we see in Alien in the chair. So it may appear like it's his body thats fossilized, but it is most likely some kinda biomechanical suit, not his actually body.

hi, abiogenesis:
The Derelcit was on the planet for thousands of years already, as stated by Sir Ridley himself several times. Thus, no time travelling needed.

Where's WierzbowskiMay 19, 2012
The ship we've seen the trailers won't be the same as in Alien. I'd bet that Prometheus will only explain what these ships are (and my guess is a delivery system for biological weapons, using an indigenous species encased within the suit). It'll explain the meaning of the ship without telling its specific story. Which is perfect, because it doesn't take any the mystery of the derelict, only giving it some more context.

I agree with Where's Wierzbowski or at least I'm hoping so. The wonderfully mysterious origins of the derelict should remain mysterious. It's exactly that that has got us all here in the first place.

FOSSILIZED......
Well we dont know how that would happen in space or other climates...
And another thing regarding the Space Jockey... it is not a Skeletal Remains its not like Human or Animal Bones... hence no Fossil...
It is a suit, a exoskeleton......
A simple way to look at it would be to go and find a Big Dead Spider...

They go like that in days from this....

If you imagine how that exoskeleton and skin look, imagine simular but after many years.... even just 30?
That is the best explanation....
Thus the Jockey suit is not...

Easy, Prometheus has nothing to do with the origins of the xeno. Not a thing. The xenos have existed long before the events in this film. The derelict in Aliens has been there for a super long time and its presence there has nothing to do with the events of Prometheus. It is a completely separate storyline.

But you are time traveling when you go out into deep-space all of the time! You have no choice BUT TO time travel, its an in built certainty into the fabric of the universe as we currently know it that where ever you go in a ship or craft you are esentially traveliing through time there is no escaping it and no getting away from it!
The only difference is local time which would be around the near proximity of a spacial body and its local effects upon gravity and there is long distance effects which would be faster than light or more than likely near faster than light space travel. To get from where ever they came from first to Earth, seed it and then go to Zeta Reticuli then onto LV 426 or where ever or not even in that order.
But, no matter how hard they may hate it they still have to get from A to B and how else do you do that unless you some how traverse the SPACE or SPACES IN BETWEEN! Whether be it lightspeed travel or dimentional cross-rips, time jumps.
Otherwise, why build ships and then call them "space ships" if you were not intending to fly off into the depths of SPACE! It would be the biggest wast of time in resources in the history of a civilization. You build dozens maybe hundreds of space ships yet don't fly them into space! Then why would you presume to then call them "space ships"? Duhhh!
I often thought it would be really interesting to use a sling-shot effect around a black hole (no suprise there given my name sake!)
