MemberOvomorphMay-19-2012 1:43 AMJust my opinion, but may be regarded as a speculative spoiler... This is something that has bugged me right from the first trailer.
Thr Juggernaut crashes in an upright position, we see a great shot of Shaw looking up at it... And then it apparently starts to roll?
I have a few problems with this. It seems that it crashes on a flat plain, if the ship was round (like a coin) then yes, it MIGHT roll, but it's not round, it's elliptical. Elliptical things don't like to roll, they tend to rock back and forth, it would take an immense amount of inertia to make that thing roll forward.
And why the hell doesn't Vickers and Shaw just run off to the side, and let the ship "roll" past them?
Is the Juggernaut alive? Is it actively chasing after them, is it actually (quote from Scott) the huge new Creature... Jeez, I hope not!
I guess we'll know in 14 days time.

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2012 2:23 AMWell the ship does look like it is grown. it might just have some weird form of alien propulsion and can do strange things other ships cant. anti gravity drive anyone?

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2012 2:39 AM@Kronik - pretty sure the quick cut scenes and edits make it look out of context, but you bring up a solid point there.
Duck and cover, right?
In any case, I got 20 days until I figure out what the hell is going on with the impact that lets the Jugg land almost in tact....Prometheus is one big ship, or is it, right?

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2012 3:21 AMFrom my speculation, the Juggernaut is merged with (BOINK!) its pilot symbiotically, probably at the neurological level...
I look at the Juggernaut, notice the protrusions at the ends of its "arms" and wonder if those (BOINK!) might be weapons, and of so maybe the pilots sensation of aiming and firing them would be similar to aiming and firing a firearm. Maybe those "arms" aren't rigid, and can actually be manipulated by the pilot as if they were his own arms. If the ship works out like this, I see no reason it shouldn't be able (BOINK!) to roll around on the ground like a kid doing somersaults, either... maybe even dragging itself around, or walking on its hands.

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2012 6:44 AMYeah it's weird. They are plenty of inconsistencies.
Tthe Juggernaut was made to serve the space jockeys right? Why didn't it destroy the Prometheus with a more conventional weapon system like a ray gun before it could ever hope to smash into it?

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2012 11:35 AMSounds like you've assumed it's centre of gravity?
Perhaps, you're wrong.

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2012 7:01 PMI agree that it seems more plausible for it to just flop over on its side than start rolling. Chalk it up to artistic license.

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2012 7:08 PMi do not believe the Juggernaut crashes in an upright position and then starts to roll. I think it crashes on it side and rolls back and froth eventually becoming still but upright.

It falls on its FACE, right?
It flies "backward" from what I've seen.
