Hello everyone - Very excited about the upcoming Prometheus film! Been an ALIEN fan since the early 80s when I was able to sneak in my parents room and watch it from behind the couch LOL! I'm a professional artist and have always wished toy companies would have invested the time to create a line of figures for the fans (they almost did but canceled the line due to parental pressure). So I have decided to take it upon myself to make my own. The attached link shows the work in progress of the original Nostromo cast up to this point (May 19). The figures will be in 1:18 scale (approx. 3.75" tall) I hope to have the entire crew of the Nostromo as well as the Nostromo Galley diorama complete by Sept 2012. It's a labor of love which I hope you will enjoy!...oh and expect some Prometheus figures to be created as well. Great models and images! So are you adding stuff to existing generic figurines to do this? Do you have a video of you making one that you can post? BTW, Welcome to the #1 Prometheus Movie site in the world, and to our community!

@ Abordoli - Thank you! Love the site!!! I bring various parts (arms, legs, torsos) of existing figures and attach them together (like Dr. Frankenstein) to create a rough frame that will encompass the size and amount of articluation I think the character should have. Next I will take a dremel tool and sand away the original sculpts...whittling the frame down to an articluated "skeleton-like" armature I can sculpt over. Working on a video that I will post on youtube soon showing this process :)

@ Sukkal - I use the two part epoxy Aves FIXIT sculpt. Sometimes I work in wax but not primarily on this project. Love to photograph this stuff! Thanks!

Thanks everyone! Like I said - I am working on a Prometheus line of figures. Beginning with Elizabeth Shaw in the exploritory environmental suit. Working with another artist who vacuum forms to get the helmet down correctly. Below is an image of the first test - The bubble is a bit cloudy because it's a rough sample - the final will be crystal clear. I quickly worked up a sample of the neck collar and hardware to fit the dome to better have an idea how it will look. Close but needs to be a bit wider and rounder.
