Theory about the monsters

Hey all! The new interview that stated that the creature had 4 stages really messed up my theories. We've seen in the trailers and Tv spots that there are several creatures with no aparent relation. For example, Fifield is clearly not Shaw's baby. And don't forget the engineers too. So, there are at least 3 different creatures. What's the one with four stages? Sorry if this should not be in the spoiler board, I think it's spoilerish material, but if you don't think so, please move it to the Prometheus talks.
Have you heard of phoenix asteroids? They glow in every color of the rainbow...they travel endlessly through space...

maybe the 3 different creatures are actually 3 of the 4 stages of the creature?!?

Here's how I found it from all the spoilers, images and clips. Single creature with 4 stages of evolution. Single alive space jockey who planned this all.

I think the spoiler board is the right one for me. : ) All the following is only my sole speculation, only having read a lot and seen the trailers. Of course, everybody likes the own ideas best. But yet I really hope that when I finally see the movie that "I was sooo wrong". [UPDATED] Yes, I also think it might be only one engineer who is really old (hundred-thousands of years), but has ways to hibernate his mind and DNA for a while (in "urns"?). I like the idea of the engineers to be sinister, long-living loners with dark intentions. They are so sinister that they have to stay alone, also due to their endless travels in space. What if human (male and female) is one of the life form transitions, and human destiny is totally woven into the SJ genetic experiments? He came to earth to drop us or to create/modify us here some thousands of years ago ("hey, nice farm land!"). And the SJ laboratory contains the virus, "food", or species that starts our transformation. The transformation might hurt and kill us, but the transformed next life form (the engineer) most likely couldn't care less. Since I saw the cobra-like worm and the other monsters in the trailers, I can't get rid of this idea. The "cobra" is magically attracted by human eyes, biting there and laying its little cobra-egg, and when the worm grows in the eye, it starts transforming all our body liquids into acid, starting in the eye. That's why Holloway screams in agony while Shaw is weeping in her bathroom. The acid transformation is starting, and he begs to "cut it out, cut it out" (the eye and the worm). After the painful transformation he might be pissed off, too. But it takes a while until the other monsters have done their job. One needs a woman to breed something (an engineer womb?) and another takes a man to transfer the engineers mind. The snake in the helmet drinks human brain, seeds the engineers mind into it and then pumps the new mass into a mindless body (Holloway). Well, OK, its carrying me away. Please read on, I'm getting more serious again ... Maybe all mammals on earth and especially we humans are nothing else than moving "nests" for these acid-based and/or acid-creating life forms (in their various sub-forms), and we and them carry the parts to make "engineers". DNA is a kind of acid isn't it? Now here we have the large kind of thing. Some different life forms (mammal forms vs. acid forms) which merge into the last one. Oy yeah, and then it might tie into the Prometheus myth, even though I personally don't like this idea of using the myth for the movie. Weyland could be compared to Prometheus because he found out how to transfer a human mind into other bodies after they actually died (during their FTL travels - Hi Dan Simmons). The engineer might dislike this, because he wants to be the only one who creeps into other's brains. I think some of these ideas might explain the riddle about "anything and everything", and also the R-rating ("the ideas in the movies are disturbing, not so much what you see"). By the way, Larry Niven wrote his story "Protector" in 1973 about a similar (not quite so painful) transformation where a human space traveller becomes an alien, caused by eating some kind of lovely smelling alien carrots he found in an abandoned alien vessel, and his story also involved the aliens (the protectors) messing up with human evolution in our neolithic past, having exactly the final transformation in mind. Humans have three stages: Youngsters, adults and Protectors. Anyhow, without the carrots given to us when we become old (or at least totally grown up), we simply die "naturally". The carrots have a pheromone, which smells irresistible to adult humans when we are "ripe" for transformation. Actually this SF novel is a prequel to "Ringworld", although written afterwards. It helps understanding the following Larry Niven novels better ("Ring world engineers" and "Ring World Throne"). I guess there is a chance that RS might be boiling up some ideas from SF authors. And - why not? Everybody does this.

Or the three stages of the creature then make the forth as a whole! How about that!

Yes, this gives room for even more horror, because it might involve dis-integrating and integrating forms. Makes me think of Vernor Vinges "dog" cultures, although they were comparably nice to humans. So much already has been there in SF novels, but I hope RS has something totally new.

I agree. There's something here that we're missing (which will no doubt become clear when we get to see the movie). Scott really has to give us something new and seriously shocking, otherwise, in all honesty Prometheus is just Alien redux. IMHO ; )

Two Stages are..... Cuddles..... Shaws Baby and... Grown Up Cuddles the Cthulhu Now other possible parts of that cycle..... if Holoway gets her Pregnant then the Micro Organism Parasite could be part of that.... Is there a part between Baby Squid and Xeno Squid... or something that is born from Xeno Squid/ Cuddles Cthulhu

Also its a bit strange that what i was told about the creatures by someone ages ago i posted them on here a while back. This person said Proto Xeno looked a little like a Xeno, only had 4 small tentacles near its mouth, like Prawn things in District 9 and the creature has 4 tentacle as well as arms and legs... It apears maybe this is not far off what we will see.. He claimed there are 5 Alien Creatures in this movie... But i dont know what he meant by those exactly?

I maintain it is ONE creature and all of the deaths we have seen so far were caused by IT but in different stages of it's life cycle, there is no 3 creatures if you ask me, just ONE ! It's all the exact same organism in different stages of it's life cycle. I really really look forward to us getting the answer on this one too because quite frankly I have thought this for months now, think I came down on the right side of this issue... and IMO it is a "NO BRAINER". So if I end up being wrong I will admit I do not have one!!!

I hold the opinion that it is only one creature. If you saw a mash up of scenes from Alien in a trailer today, without having seen the film before, there'd be no way to tell if it was one alien or three different species. That said, Prometheus isn't really a creature-feature and the idea of many different aliens doesn't gel with what's been seen in the past. I don't think Ridley would be particularly interested in a creature feature either. I think you're over-thinking it Vandyke. A wise man once told me when I was a budding fiction writer to 'keep it simple, stupid.' A complex plot just boggles minds, todays ADHD audiences don't want to have to think too much. I don't think the idea of a single Space Jockey holds any water, it doesn't make sense, all those urns for one creature? Nah.

@ Westy Yeah, I think I said it carried me away. The main thing for me is that we are part of a transformation cycle, and/or moving "nests" for the transformation. If there is one or many creatures doesn't really matter for the idea. I can't see any indication of more than one engineer appearing in this movie, and this points to the conclusion that there might really be only one engineer around in that time and part of the galaxy. And who says the urns carries engineers? Doesn't sound very logical to me. I rather believe they carry all the DNA fragments needed to create whatever kind of being, including engineers? But it makes no difference what I like to believe and what others do. As I said before, everybody likes their own ideas most.

3 or 4 stages, is great for the film, but is only a small part of what is really going on. Trully a 4-stage creature would have any human taken by complete surprise. There would be no conceivable way to defend against it. It would always have the advantage to host or kill the human. Yet, it proves only how malevolent and advanced was the being that created such technology. Yet it is an act of violence and disrespect to life of other creatures in the universe. Whoever created it is certainly having a feeling of arrogance and superiority and believes he has the right to dominate lower ranking life forms. The thing is why is he doing it? Titanology might give a helping hand. Titans were no less gods. They were the old gods who fought with their offsprings the young gods for not losing their thrones. Some of the old Titans fought to the side of the young ones who finally won. Men were born out of the blood spilt by the old Titans who fought by the side of the young ones. That's the myth. After his defeat, the arch-old Titan Kronos (Saturn) was removed asleep for eternity into the cave of Night (another Godess). Think about that...The old God imprisoned on a planet, conceives a new plan to lure humans (who hates as offsprings of his adversaries) to visit the planet and get him a chance to go off that planet and going back to Earth for a reason we can't yet concieve (maybe to restart the war against the young Gods)...maybe also that's why the derelict with the old God piloting it must be shot down, because there will be no home to go back to... Just think about it...

markos, I like that, but it has a logical bug ... If the Titan is imprisoned how could he get to earth to set up the invitation signs (or let them be painted by neolithics)?
