Did you see them running toward David, I was wondering if that was a recording he was watching and maybe that was from another vessel...like a black box?

It's a hologram of some sort and I cant make out whether it's being replayed or not. Perhaps that's what they look like under some sort of light bending or shape shifting. They look different than the blue/grey guys so maybe those are earlier predecessers. They move fairly quick despite their suits which look sluggish.
Yeah, like David is watching a replay of something. Because it looks like they were running away from something....and they wanted nothing to do with it.
