I discovered that the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification, similar to the Motion Picture Association of America) is going to release an extended description of why Prometheus received the rating which it was given (on May 22nd). It seems as if over in the U.K. they released semi-detailed information regarding a films content 10-days before it's release date. "The BBFC produces detailed information about the content of every film and video game that we classify, which we call Extended Classification Information, or ECI. This is in addition to the short sentence of Consumer Advice which appears on posters and advertising for films. ECI is designed to explain in greater detail the issues, and in many cases the plot lines, which led to the film being given the classification it was. As a result it may also contain plot spoilers, which is why you have to click on the link to open it. Not everyone wants to see this information. The ECI goes up on our site 10 days before the film opens. Sometimes we classify films many weeks, or even months before they are due to open, which explains why not all films listed here will have a link to the ECI yet. If the ECI is available you will see the symbol above which you click on and this will open the ECI window for that film. Parents can find more detailed information about the content of ‘U’, ‘PG’, and ’12A’ films on our website www.pbbfc.co.uk." So for those of you who are itching at getting as much info as possible before the movie comes out, this could be another sample of blood for you spoiler vamps out there. They get the 4m 36s of a prequel to Alien where we don't get any. It's Ridley's gift to the motherland.

I would've thought the extra 4min 36sec are due to differences in how the UK and US cinemas compress digital video. Nice pic, @Shambhala. I feel right at home posting immediately after.

Can't the 4' 36" difference just be the ending credits?
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Well think about this.... Lindelof did say about how he was a fan of how Battleship and Green Lanturn had a extra scene after the credits and how it ws like a free gift after the movie and how these things can also act as a Viral to a Sequel... He also said about Iron Man ending with Viral/Link to Avengers.... did he mean Captain America. Does that mean after the Credits we get something that could link either to a Promethus 2 or Alien?

Oh i just noticed.... They will post details on why the movie has been given a Cert 15 on or after the 22nd..... Could that mean that the guys from the BBFC will had seen the full cut by then and they can then write up a brief as to why it had to be classed as 15? Maybe thats just coinsidence, or maybe the information 2 weeks ago i was given about their being a Pre Screening for Press and the like on the 22nd could had been correct. Great find about that BBFC Extended Classification i never knew about that.

I also noticed from looking at the MPAA ratings site that an alternate title for the film is "Tomb of the Gods." I never knew that.
