But in all seriousness isn't that pretty much what happens I thought it shows her grabbing the far ledge and hanging on, probably pulls herself up shortly after.

She's floating outside her body after falling in the Spirit Realm Portal.

Actually you'd be more accurate to say it blows.. LOL Yes that's from outland, one of the best exploding head movies out there.

Looking at that shot in the video, the line of jump makes her miss the landing ... she could just grab the edge ... maybe she actually does fall and so land on either the Juggernaut or another landing pad? ... then ... MAYBE she is gushed out of the Geyser herself? ... dunno ... but IMHO it definitely looks like she does NOT make that jump ...

Yea but the General Lee always pulled off some impossible jumps and came thru without a scratch, every time.

She's not actually jumping. She's stationary but the planet is bouncing.

She must at least manage to grab the other edge and pull herself up. The chamber beneath her is huge, with a considerable distance to fall, so she'd end up with broken bones, at best. She'd also have to make her way all the way back to the surface, in time to be menaced by the rolling juggernaut.

I always assumed that she is jumping on top of the Derelict. BTW... no one every talks about how the planet has low gravity.. or did I miss that thread.

I think the gravity is different. There was one scene where someone is jumping out the back of the Prometheus (holding a bag of some sort) and he/she makes quite an effortless leap down.

I don't think she's trying to jump down to the derelict. I think she's trying to jump across. With the gravity being different, she knows she can make a bigger leap across as well. I thought the trailers already showed her hand barely catching the other side?

RabidChinchilla, Never saw the hand catching the other side. I always assumed, "We can't let this go to Earth", so she just jumps on it.. lol.

If you want to get off, why would you even jump to the next receding segment? It's useless! just stand still and let yourself be taken to the edge and then step up to solid ground, that's what I would do, but my name's not Shaw or Vickers. Unless the segments are meant to open just a bit and then tilt vertically or something like that.

she makes it across, rolls and lives, finds out from David8 about a crew member with "her own agenda" and murders Vickers to stop her form obtaining some Creature DNA for Ms. Yutani {who is still pissed about losing her lawsuit not so long ago in this timeline and wants to fabricate the "ultimate bio-mechanical weapon} and scoops up Jonsey as the two make their way back to earth and to warn mankind that everything it has been taught and handed down, generation after generation and that everything mankind has believed regarding it's own origins is and was wrong, We were created by some Nasty Creatures from only they them selves know where in Outer Space and now they're really really pissed at Mankind !!! I always thought whlie watching the trailers that she wont take it to jump over the edge because of the moving pieces below..the gaps are getting bigger and bigger.. as long as you dont go to the sides you [i]must[/i] fall down..
