How Prometheus and ALIEN Tie Together

I had this crazy idea that the eggs in the derelict of ALIEN was not meant for Earth but for the home world of the race that created the Engineers. This race may be like the xeno but hyper intelligent- in other words, that huge banana brain if fully activated, not just the raw instinctual parts. Maybe the Engineers were attempting to revolt against their masters, using their own genetics as a foundation for creating a super killing machine. So the mission was to take this cargo of new super weapons and deploy it to the home world and kill them off, then take over. But the mission was compromised when a face hugger got loose. Back on LV-226, a similar thing happened, indicating that this thing is too volatile to really control. So now almost all the Engineers were lost and those that remained went into a form of hibernation, until they could be found (or rescued) by someone.
