My 50th Birthday is coming up on June15th. I am a Big Big Sports fan and about 5 years ago, at this time, like every other year just about, I got a visit from a friend that lives in Florida now. His name is George, he is Hungarian and we have been friends for about 40 years. I mention he is "Hungarian" because he taught me how to say "Until We Meet Again" to all the ladies out there, but in Hungarian and I still remember the Line...it goes like this... "Vee-Sunt-La-Tash-Ra" "UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN" It has been almost 5 years now since this happened and Kubica has not been back to the F1 circuit yet but i still am hopeful and am reminded of it each year at this time as we approach F1's Monaco Race which is followed by The Grand Prix Du Montreal. My friend George isn't too familiar with all the new improvements in software for the PC and asked me what I was playing with on the computer screen that day while watching the Race with him {It was my video capture card}. He asked me one question and then ALL HELL HAPPENED... He said to me..."Can you take a Live picture of the Race with that thing"? To which I replied..."Why Yes, we can, we just have to hit the Space bar like this"...and I hit it rapidly for about 12 seconds in a row without looking at what was happening on the screen...and as I turned and looked up SHOCK & HORROR filled my eyes immediately as I realized I had just captured a horrific accident LIVE in sequential digital photography. Here is , in order, what I captured that day... -------------------- So another year, another Birthday, and yet another Formula One Race will pass by for me here in Montreal in the coming weekends and I cannot help but wonder about Robert Kubica...and how his recovery has gone, I remember hearing at the time that he had broken both legs and his pelvis pretty badly in that crash. Here is the Video of that incident... KubicaMontreal2007 Incredibly, I have discovered he is still attempting to come back to F1 and here is his blog spot... http://robertscomeback.blogspot.ca/ I for one hope he makes it back...Driving an F1 Car has got to be a lot like directing a Movie Like Prometheus! There is an inherent Danger that you will fail miserably in Both !!! But a winner doesn't let that stop him !!! In My book just Like Kubica is a Winner so is Ridley Scott !!! Yep, nice post about a very very nice person and extremely talented pilot. Hope he will get back in F1 someday if that is what he is willing to do. Am a race car/F1 addict myself (less for F1 since a few years cause meh! gets boring... either too predictable victories or totally random 'tire roulette'). I also intended to be a singleseater pilot a few years ago. I raced and participated in several singleseater selections on the Bugatti track at Le Mans when I was in high-school, in order to enter 'La Filière' school (now 'Auto Sport Academy'). Well, it did not happen for various reasons so I sticked to the initial plan, turning into a dinosaur palaeontologist and now I just rent supercars for cheap when I work in the US... :) Anyway, nice to find a formula 1 enthusiast here, and very nice tribute and memories you have about that horrible day. thx for sharing. -T.

I like your comments on F1 about it being boring as far as the fans and the domination of teams like Ferrari for so long, but things have been changing of late for the getter no?

yeah, I agree it has gotten better now, mostly for there is more suspense for us viewers, sure! I was/am a Schumacher/Brawn/Todt supporter so I was not that bored when they kept winning everything (haha! have to admit 'sport-wise' it was prob not very interesting!). I was meaning the omre recent RedBull/Vettel domination. I really don't like most of the rules they changed too and mostly how tires got such a major influence after they let in more than 1 manufacturer. I don't like all the 'fake' boosters they added (KERS etc...) and the fact they can't refuel. Added to the now random 'car+tires combo' performance on each track (see the list of winners this year) you have no idea how the race will go at all. Sure "a little unpredictable" is nice for the show, but I don't like completely random :/ Okay, okay, I have to admit, I am just ranting cause I want Schumacher or Raikkonen to win! haha Thanks for the tip about "Winning", haven't seen it so I will sure follow your advice. I really love Paul Newman (no, not that way!) he was a great great person and a real car-enthusiast and gentleman-driver!

Oh! I'm very pleased that there is F1 fans over here. Me too, I'm a F1 fan, especially Schumacher's fan from the very beginning of his career in F1. This year he is very strong and obviously has a huge motivation to win. The last Monaco GP he was the fastest, but he continues to face misfortunes with his car (3 mechanic failures already in this season) or with the stupid behavior of some pilots (3 crashes). I'm sure Schumacher will be very fast in Canada GP like the last year. If everything will be fine with his car he will win. As for Kubica. It was a very bad incident but the rally was of course the worst. I hope so much that Kubica will return to F1, but honestly I don't expect it. All we can do is to wish him a good health and fast recovery.
