Ok, I don't think it's any secret that the Prometheus collides with the Juggernaut to keep it from taking off. We also see in the featurette that Vickers escapes in a escape pod and you can also see several other crew members still alive on the surface. Seems pretty obvious they are now stranded on what we all consider LV426 with no way home. So what happens to them? The Nostromo, Sulaco and Colony crews never find any escape pod or human remains. Seems to me the stranded crew would further investigate the crashed Juggernaut. What could they find inside? Perhaps a cargo? And their own demise? Thoughts.

This is classic! Ripley: When we throw the switches, how long before the ship blows? Parker: Ten minutes. Ripley: No bullshit? Parker: We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space.

Well, i am pretty sure, they will be bored on that lonely planet and will start beeing "jehovas witnesses", means they will never die (like j.w. still belive - but one after the other jehova's witnesses dies, though watchtower company said in the 20th of the last century "MILLIONS NOW LIVING WILL NEVER DIE".. anyway - enjoy..

I've taken part in many many discussion boards in my day and it's always confused me as to why some people feel the need to be so rude. But I digress... In a recent interview with David Levy (concept artist & designer) he said : The action in 'Prometheus' takes place on the same planetoid as in 'Alien' and 'Aliens'? Yes. It is the same planetary system, and we discover the planet at another time in its history, long before the period of 'Alien' and 'Aliens'. The idea was to describe a volcanic-formed planet whose activity had ceased, a dead world. NONE of us truly know what is going to go down in this movie unless you just happen to have Ridleys #? It's all speculation at this point.

They said the last 8 minutes will tie into Alien a bit, or we would see familiar territory.... This is a great thread because I was also wondering what would happen to the survivors on the ground. They would have to get out of the sandstorms, look for a food source... So it would not be long before they entered another one of those temples regardless of dangers because they would be worried about survival... This does Not bode well for Anyone staying behind. The only thing I can think of is if David is still alive, he seems to have figured out how to use the equipment, so he could fly Shaw, Vickers and himself out of there in an SJ ship, Only thing I can think of, there were other ships under the other temples I think. I would be happy if Vickers survives over any of them, she is the new ripely not shaw!

If you're referring to my comment, it wasn't meant to be rude nor personal. But if you claim to be a huge fan and to have been around on so many forums and discussions it strikes me even more that you're not up to date with your facts. Ridley Scott himself talks about LV-223 in one of the featurettes, and it's even visible in a simulation of its orbit. That was over a month ago. Both planetiods are in the same system called Zeta2 Reticuli, and therefore share the same universe, not just locationwise but on many other levels. Hope that clarified it. LOL. The only FACT I know is that none of us have seen this movie. All the discussions here are speculation, including mine. Yes I know that LV223 has been mentioned. It has also been contradicted. This is all for fun. We're all just speculating about a movie that we're stoked about. I'm not getting drawn into a debate over who is the biggest fan or who has the biggest fact(s)! :) Let's just all enjoy. Nuff said.

Sure, friend. If you want it to be LV-426 so desperately, then so be it. I just hope you won't be massively disappointed, when you realise there's no young Ripley and a different derelict ship in it. Maybe in the end you're better off than most of us here, with so many extra surprises in stall for you! LOL

All the humanoids you see in the trailer so far may be originally human. Whether or not they belong to the crew is another question. The SJ/God/Engineers etc may all be dead on the planet. The real/other Gods/Higher Beings may yet to reveal themselves (set up for PROMETHEUS 2 : THE BALLAD OF THE GOD ENGINEERS?)

again, this is where i feel the trailers are imtentionally meant to decieve. with this not being a direct prequel, and there being a need leave things open to a sequel, i think we can assume seceral possible outcomes: - the planet is NOT lv-426, otherwise where does the sequel come in? - some of the crew are left stranded - Vickers gets away so a lie to the company can be made encouraging a second prometheus expedition. i like the theory of David learning how to pilot the ship. maybe the stranded crew, in thhe sequel, starts experimenting with the space jockey tech and figure out a way to repair the derelict, or maybe they accidentally create an Alien. who knows. hope theres a sequel so we can theorize more!

I'm all love, peace and passion, too, my fellow Promethians. But I do find it annoying when people are so stubborn towards now well known, official facts and then go and clog up forums with therefore (at least IMO) unnecessary threads discussing those early speculations over and over. It's that desperate wish of hard-lined fans who seem to ignore Scott's idea for this semi-prequel. Some people just seem to struggle to let go of that old original masterpiece which no one wants to touch or destroy. Scott said on numerous occassions that he will give us DNA strands of ALIEN, and that towards the end of Prometheus we will all have a big moment and look at the first act of ALIEN in a different way but without changing its course or message. So I'm asking... HOW MUCH BETTER can it possibly get, plus the prospect of at least one sequel to this?? For those who have an open mind, watch the featurette 'Origins' again by following the link below. For those who can't et go, be warned, as in this case it contains massive spoilers! What if the Alien movie really takes place before Prometheus, and not the other way around. That's why Ridley says that it's not a prequel. Before the crew woke up from hyperspace the Weyland company sent instructions to the Nostromos computer (mother) to change  course. After the crew wakes up they are told by the ships captain that they have to investigate the call. At that point Ash ( the android ) does not know about the secret mission. When the ship does reach and , land on the planet. We see Dallas, Lambert and Kane leave the ship to investigate. Don't you think that if Ash knew about the company's  secret agenda he would of joined the others just to make sure some Alien DNA was found. No, instead of going he stayed behind.  What if Kane did not find any Alien DNA, then the whole trip would of been a waste. But while the group of three is away the Weyland company's orders to Ash ( which were programmed into him on earth finally come to light, as he begins to protect the Xenomorph.  Remember the conversation between Ash and Lambert. Lambert- you admire it, Ash- I admire it's purity. It almost seems to me that Ash seems surprised of how biologically perfect the Xenomorph is when it comes to survival. Then at the end we see Ripley going into deep sleep again with her cat (jonesy), and then we next see her in Aliens, getting ready to battle the Xenomorphs again. What if the Aliens movie was taking place at the same time the Prometheus trip is going on. And neither of the crews no about each other. The only thing I'm sure about is that this movie will have many surprises.

Hal, I'm starting to believe maybe you ARE an engineer because you seem to have all the answers! Instead of trying to badger me because I have a different viewpoint then your own why don't you just go ahead and recap the movie for us scene by scene since you already know everything about it. Why are you even in the forums if you already know everything about it? Why don't you just go ahead and share it then? The only thing I'm "massively disappointed" in is your insistence to try to cut down every single thing I say in here. Let it go. Agree to disagree and move on. I'm asking you nicely.

@donholbrookjr: Will you quit getting all personal about this already? If you've really read my comments thoroughly, then you'd have seen that I wasn't even addressing you directly anymore. I have realised that you have your strong opinion about it and that's absolutely fine with me. I couldn't care less! Speculations pop up every minute around here, that is what the forum is about, amongst other things. But only few peeps come along and speculate about something which is commonly accepted and officially confirmed as fact! You really don't get that, do you? However, all I've done is give my personal opinion and critizised a general attitude amongst certain fans, not naming you. Furthermore, I have not the slightest intention to recap or have the movie recapped for me. In fact, the less I know about it the better. But I do follow the official viral campaign, as this information is intended for the audience to be known and I do trust Scott/FOX that they're doing the right thing there. Why don't you join the next twitter Q&A and ask Ridley personally why in the original 1979 Alien there's no Prometheus wreckage seen around the derelict ship on Acheron? I'd love to see his face! I was born in 1970, so I consider myself indeed as a very passionate and enthusiastic fan, and surely as someone who knows his way around the facts, having seen all 4 movies back and forth dozens of times, on big and small screens. I have been looking forward to something like Prometheus for just over 27 years my friend, so don't you dare to question or redicule that. I literally grew up with things around the Alien franchise. So let's move on swiftly and I am asking you to accept my opinion just as I have accepted yours. But frankly, I think it is not me who has to let go of something here...

At the end of the day, I think we all just want to feel the same about Prometheus as we do about A L I E N. I don't know about you guys but the hairs on the back of my kneck are already standing up. Whatever direction the new film takes I have no doubt that Ridley will be taking us on a helluva ride! Enjoy it my fellow men/women.

@The Lone Gunwoman: Well said, I can only second that! My entire body hair has been standing straight up since I first heard about Ridley's return to revisit the ALIEN universe, especially after so much crap (IMO) has been produced over the years. And because I know he's an old skool film maker, I have no doubts that he will take us all on an inrcedible journey and will give the slightly 'damaged' genre of Sci-Fi a good overhaul! Despite many fan's opinions, I'm also looking forward to whatever he has planned for the Blade Runner prequel/sequel. Just imagine how much potential for story is in all the 'Off-Worlds' and why did man decide to build human-like androids/replicants in the first place. I know it's off topic but I thought it was worth mentioning in the context of your last message! I CANNOT WAIT for next week!!

It's been a long wait HAL! I've been wishing for his return to SF for years. Agree with you on him giving the genre a much needed overhaul. There's been nothing as exciting since Bladerunner & Carpenters version of The Thing! (That had the coolest mechanical effects, better than any CGI in my humble opinion) Ridley's a total genius, he knows that realism works best & that's why he creates such believable, 'used' worlds. That's my second wish come true......him returning to Bladerunner. Can't wait!!!

Gotta agree with you folks, it's been a long wait. When I first saw teaser number one, saw the name Prometheus spelled out slowly like in A L I E N, and heard that eerily similar kind of music from the first Alien teaser/trailer way back in 1979, the hair on the back of my neck definitely stood up. Of course, the vision onscreen that really sealed the deal though, was the statement "A Film by Ridley Scott". That changed everything. 11 days and change...
