The first image shows what looks to be the first trip into the temple, It is interesting in it self as it shows the back of the giant head. Note the ground and how dry it is. the ampules are dry as well.

Now take a look at the image above. I am guessing that this is Milburn about to meet the cobra huggar, but take a look at the surroundings. It looks to me that this is the base of the giant head in the same chamber. The architecture in the room is the same as the prior picture.
Now look at the ampules they are all overflowing with the black goo. Somebody touched or did something on the first trip to activate the ampules.
I think the cause of this reaction is something Holloway does and it is how he gets infected. We see Holloway in this image looking at the what i think is black goo in a bowl.

Then we cut to the next image of a close up of a goo between two fingers.

I think this is Hollowy interacting with the goo, it creates a slow infection and starts a transfer of material to the goo and in turn starts the engine of the ampules.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 11:57 AMI am willing to be that the Engineers themselves made that happen somehow, that the Xeno-Guard{s} {It was Never a Mural-Engineers don't fuss over Home Decor} thing{s}are coming to life as we speak and chasing anyone who touched" the ampules.

So you think that once you enter the temple, the murals or what ever they are form some sort of guardian role? They change and create the engine that starts the ampules to leak and create?

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 2:36 PMI noticed the canisters were leaking in the trailer, not all of them but quite a few. The one David was looking at did not have any spillage on the sides. There was one that seemed to overflow with the black liquid where they showed the snake looking creature, and on this side, the environment looked very wet.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 3:25 PMIt's hard to tell from chronologically mixed up and heavily-edited trailers, but my theory is that at some point after finding the head room, they trigger a trap. In addition to the Black oil on the floor, there is also chunks of rock scattered around which makes me think maybe the head statue explodes? I'm thinking the head exploding might even foreshadow the head in the medlab (fifield's?) exploding in green goo later on. maybe a head exploding is part of the new face-hugger life-cycle?

MemberOvomorphOct-18-2012 3:11 PMWhen the Captain is in the Ampule room(after the storm) asks about the leaking canisters,,it looked to me like the they were leaking from the very top,,,,judging by the goo tracks,,all way down the sides,,
When David first opens his stolen ampule he clearly removes the top..the top extending about 1/4 down the side,,
So where were the ampules leaking? from the top(as I recall the scene)...or the side which seems evident to me,,from the David's experiment on board the Prometheus,,
The ampule leaking location just doesn't match up.
