I was thinking the Jockeys are just pilots not engineers that serve something geater and the engineers are something else that we dont know of yet. The primary role of the Jockey is to probably deliver these ampules to other planets so life they create can thrive. Or maybe the whats really inside those ampules are bioweapons where they unleash all sorts of monsters as part of ther wrath.
