For the record, Tim Burton's version of "Planet of the Apes" was rubbish. Especially the ending, as you said.
(...and my God. This Lindelorf guy, or whatever the hell his name is, is really turning out to be the next M. Night Shyamalama-ding-dong. Apologists aplenty, but couldn't write his way out of a wet paper sack.)

@ disappointed fans...( mikydisco,rubinis...)
Guys did you like Tim Burton's version of ''Planet of the Apes'' ??Especially the ending...

Well, this is exactly what I expected of a dumb plot (von Däniken crap!) and the desecration of giger´s beautiful Space jockey...
Thanks a lot Dork Lindelaugh!!!

Just watched it at London BFI IMAX.
Beautiful cinematography
Poor Acting
Atrocious Plot
Ridiculous pacing
Irritatingly poor soundtrack
I was gearing up to write a comprehensive review but if
I'm honest, it's just not worth it.
I am now having a beer with my fellow viewers and we are all coming to the same conclusions.
Sorry to be so honest but I'm dissapointed beyond comprehension.

Guys, you are all bashing Lindolf and blaming him for ruining the movie, but Ridley isn't retarded, he hired the guy and read his script so he knew what was going on.

It makes you wonder why would someone with that much talent hire a cheesy pop writer.
Answear: because it sells...

The blind shall lead the blind... these reviews aren't going to kill it for me... guess everybody wants to stay stuck in 1979

By The Way People, 3 of the 4 guys who just kindly reviewed this for us all have less than 9 or 10 posts total!

Just as I expected, my brother lives in Paris and he and his coworkers all said it was rubbish as well. He said it had a terrible plot and that the visuals were good but not that much more impressive than the Avengers.

PowereddieMay 31, 2012
Well, my expectations are set so low, that whatever is thrown at me at the cinema next week, I am sure I´ll end up enjoying.
:)

I was disappointed, why did you screw this up Damon?! The movie makes no sense, it builds tension but leaves to many loose threads. And the soundtrack wasn't ominous att all.

mikydiscoMay 31, 2012
@greek, what has planet of the apes got to do with this discussion?
Prometheus delivered on some levels in a spectacular fashion but failed miserably on others. I'm certainly not stuck in '79 but I expected quality from the people involved in this. It did not
deliver.

@Drakeequation,...
with your comment there goes another 3 pointer in the "Prometheus is Crap" basket...

I too found the soundtrack very lame. Even though I need the visuals to deliver a complete judgement. I liked Max Richter track, although I don´t know if it figures in the film.
This is all Ridley Scott, Lideldork didn´t choose the composer and music.

I never watched a single episode of Lost but of course I heard about the stupid ending. I was hoping that Lindelof was more than a one trick pony, but it sounds like I was wrong.
Haven't seen it yet (live in the US) but now my expectations will be very low so hopefully that will help.
The one thing that I've always thought really makes a movie is a good soundtrack. Alien was haunting and Blade Runner was beautiful (and haunting) but it sounds like RS forgot that lesson.
I hope to like it.

Not a good news for those who haven't seen it. it gets 3/5 from yahoo review.
