I want this to be special.I hope Im not disappointed. 3 of my all time fave films are The Duellists,Alien and Blade Runner.I hope Sir RS. is on form ....more to follow...

ah, I watched Kubrik's Barry Lyndon last night. Great movie [and Ridley's visual inspiration for The Duelists].

Dolly If I hadn't of being violently aware this was Ridley Scotts work - I would not have guessed he directed it

Lol Slug good one! Never seen Barry Lyndon isnt it a bit "saucy". Duellists visually stunning in places and a beautiful slow burner....

Ender, its Davros ta....hmmm odd your comment since despite all criticism even the worst critics rate the visuals highly ...a typical RS trade mark.

Barry Lyndon is visually stuning. Much like a real painting of the time frame it's in [and that was the point with the visuals]. The story line is amusing, though slow paced [and glad it is that way, gives you more time to digest the visuals]. And you come to simpathise and hate some characters [the same ones, mind you], wich is a rare thing. Plus, the Sound Score is beautiful. All of the time period.
