-----------------------------------------------------------------wow..what a mindfck...I really don't know what to think
First off..this movie is not a classic...a classic movie has full confidence in its direction and story...this movie is confused
saying that, there are moments of pure awesome.....long moments...the first 50 mins I was at the edge of my seat, the last 20 minutes were amateur hour, some people even laughed (not a good way)
It is mentally stimulating...there are scenes, ideas and concepts that take sci-fi to a new level
there are also moments of pure cheese..."I choose to believe"...I hate that fucking "I choose, you have a choice" horseshit in Hollywood...I thought Ridley was above all that
And there are many weak moments where you are like...come on Ridley...jesus christ..you could have just cut that bit
Fifield was great but underused...That stupid fuck Buddy Holly I could have done without (the one that touches the cobralien)
They should have got rid of the background characters and focused on the main ones...It's like an episode of Friends, you know when they have those weak ass background 'extras'....just weakens the film
Some of the set design was cheap, like cheap ass plastic...
Noomi Rapace was great and shit...She does great pain acting but the whole jesus/spiritual horseshit I could have done without...not convincing at all, and bringing God into this could have been done in a better way than the cliche 'I have faith'...fuck me.... yawn
Overall it was an awesome ride/experience, but too much cheese and too confused...cutting 20 mins would have made a much stronger film
and tentacles? please....sooooo cliche.....
I loved it and I hated it...my opinion is as confused as the movie...you need to see this, but it has not much rewatch value and is not a classic
