Visually stunning and Fassbender was great. But I felt the story was a bit of a convoluted mess. It maybe tried to hard to cling onto being an Alien prequel whilst at the same time something completely different. In the end it kind of ended up being neither. The dialogue had a few cringe moments, which really surprised me. But it was mainly good. The characters were a mixed bunch, many not really needed with little to know input or screen time. I think they tried to squeeze far too much in, with the disappointing plot the result. After reading the Empire review I thought they'd most likely been over critical. But after seeing the film I'm in complete agreement with the reviewers thoughts on the film. It certainly left me feeling a little empty at the end. Disappointing. Sorry, guys. I really didn't like this much at all :-(
