The Shaw Medical Scene (Spoilers) need explanation

Another question: How can David talk and function without a head, when Ash in Alien has to be restarted when his head did not even come off fully? Supposedly a more advanced model than David...

@cameron-to-the-rescue reading your above comments have made me feel slightly human again after been raped, I mean literally raped by the prometheus machine. You just put into words my feelings of anger that are currently bubbling up inside me after that insultive piece of 150 million dollar movie making bullshit. Ridley has just spat on his Alien masterpiece. What a fucking embarrassment...

Just one of many, many questions. How did Shaw know the engineer was going to wipe earth out? How did Janek know the engineers temple was just a bio weapons research facility that went wrong? Why would the Engineers leave a map to their research facility? Why a body hugger? Why so big in comparison to a fully formed proto xeno that bursts out of the engineer, when in alien the facehugger is so small? Where was this 4 stage life cycle we were promised? What pissed the engineers off so badly that they wanted to wipe out life on Earth? Why did they create us anyway? How does David know how to fly a Juggernaut? If the Engineer wanted to wipe out earth so badly, then why not just jump in one of the "other" ships that Shaw and David left in, and finish the job, instead of going after Shaw? Why would Shaw forgive David for spiking Holloway? Why did David spike Holloway's drink? If it was because Weyland asked him to, then why did Weyland ask him to? To what ends? How did Weyland know what would happen? How would they have known that Holloway and Shaw would sleep together that night to create cuddles? Who the F*** decided on the flute thing? and the squishy buttons? I think RS might well be finished, as well as quite a few critics reputation down the pan for giving this movie a decent rating. One can only wonder how anyone could like this movie. I would have thought it had nothing to do with Ridley Scott. It seemed to me to have Sci Fi channel, made-for-tv effects (especially the last few minutes) and story (throughout) Just with big names playing the parts. Am I wrong to think this and ask these questions? I am asking questions as promised by RS, for all the wrong reasons. I feel like I only watched not even half of a movie.

IMO I really dont think Prometheus 2 is even planned, how could someone as talented and Clever as we know Ridley Scott is, not know this movie would be shit? I think he is retiring, his retirement fund is sorted out now by getting arses on seats with all the hype he and Fox built up around this movie. He has AVP'd the Spacejockey now, and milked Alien for all it is worth.

The other theory that seems plausable is, they simply ran out of money to finish the movie. The first few minutes did show promise (Funny how they showed a selected audience the first 12 minutes of promise huh?) Way to get everyones hopes up!

Thats the thing its as if they filmed the scenes upto when Shaw and Holloway get it on.... Without a explantion to what Weyland wanted David 8 to try harder... Then after this they realised that they had only a certain amount of run time left to play out all the other parts and so they was all squeezed into a short time. Maybe budget was a problem.... if so i cant blame Ridley, as if he had more time and thus allowed to expand the movie by 45 mins i am sure things would have added up and flowed more smoothly like the first 1/3rd of the movie.

weyland says so.. he wants to talk to them..and by that perhaps get to know a way to cheat death...he is old and desperate and the richest man in the world, funding the trip hoping for "eternal" life

@cameron, great post..personally they should have either cut some of the scenes, or made it 3 hours and explained everything...It's like Ridley cut the first hour and then handed over to Michael Bay for the rest
