Possible Oscar(s)?

If you're mental, I am mental too, as I was thinking the same a couple of days ago: will Prometheus get any Oscar nominations? I need to watch it a few more times to get a clear idea. It's surely the best candidate for the visual compartment, and if there were an award for marketing, that would be a no brainer, too! Not sure about other aspects, yet.

Does it matter? I don't care much for awards. But these type of films rarely tend to get in the frame all that often. Certainly for visual effects it could be in with a shout. It looked incredible.

effect - big chance cinematography - possible sound/sound editing - possible supporting actor - possible ( he is great, and due - because the snub last year) art direction - possible costumes - if lucky music - if lucky anything else - nope

Oh. Definitely didn't expect this tame topic to stir up such a hornets nest. I'm just disappointed I was too slow to see the violating posts before they were removed. I'm intrigued as to their content now! :-) Thanks to those contributing and extending my initial topic.

Effects - yeah Cinematography - a nomination Supporting actor - a Nom thats it.

My original thread had suggested the acting performances were 'average'. I will retract that statement for Michael Fassbender and to a lesser extent Noomi Rapace who were excellent and good respectively.

Three possibilities; visual effects, costume design, cinematography.

The Raspberry award for pretty much everything except Fassbender, Noomi, the stunning visual effects and the soundtrack

I agree Merc7, RAZZIES everywhere, As it,s been said before, Prometheus is the new Phantom Menace, the difference is that in Phantom, there was one and only Jar jar Binks, in Prometheus, there are a lot.....
