So close, but so far away! (Prometheus review!, Major Spoilers)

After waiting and waiting for this movie to come out, I was so excited when the trailers were finished in the cinema and the movie was about to start. On a whole I think Prometheus is a good sci-fi movie… but that's all it is, good. This movie could have been incredible if a little more attention to details went into the story. We all know Ridley Scott is a visionary, who can make any film look incredible, Prometheus looks stunning, there isn't a movie that looks this stunning since Avatar, in my opinion. My problem is the attention to detail in the story. Despite what Ridley or Damon says, this is an Alien prequel. Just some of the things i didn't understand was when one of the crew members got infected with the snake-like creature corrosive fluid, he decided to kill the rest of the crew members…WHY! There is no explanation for that to happen. The second thing i didn't understand was Shaw's squid-like offspring… surly it must have some resemblance to humans… it looked like the squid creature from 'Pirates of The Caribbean'! At the end of the movie the Engineer survives the crash, enters the escape pod and attacks Shaw, who releases the squid-like offspring. It subdues the Engineer by thrusting a tentacle down its throat. Then an alien creature bursts out of the dying Engineer's chest. For those who are a fan of Alien…which I'm sure you are, you will remember that the very same Engineer dies in the chair/thing with its rib cage broken. Its that attention to detail that lets the movie down throughout. 3.5/5 THOUGHTS!?
