MemberOvomorphJun-03-2012 10:15 AMWhat do you think would happen to Holloway if he had not been killed? Would he follow Fifield's fate and get mutated or maybe something was growing inside him and would later burst out?

MemberOvomorphJun-03-2012 10:18 AMgod knows mate, the ooz seems to affect a life form diff each time, Earth worm = cobralien, fifield = god knws what he becomes or why, engineer at the begining = compelely destroyed, then theres hollow which seems to be heading the same way as the engineer at the begining.

MemberOvomorphJun-03-2012 10:18 AMHis DNA was decomposing like the Jockey's at the begining. So he would have died anyway, but maybe he would have spawned a new species.

MemberOvomorphJun-03-2012 10:30 AMI feel that Holloway would have followed the same fate as Fifield after a short amount of time - turning all zombie like - and then would have eventually been destroyed like the Engineer dude at the start..

MemberOvomorphJun-04-2012 4:02 AMThere is more to this, considering baby squid essentially came from Holloway, which ultimately lead to the xeno. The anger, power+agility of Fitfield seems to have been forgotten,a bit xeno like in his movement? Remember the black liquid destroyed the engineer straight away at the start of the movie(also the head exploding quickly,), while the humans slowly mutate with it?

During a recent viewing i especially was interested in the Vickers/Holloway final confrontation.
After Holloway had already started to go through the change and was denied access to the prometheus it seemed like another Holloway emerged. Charlie cast off chance and others(extra power) and said his goodbyes to Shaw.
It was if he knew what is fater was and resigned to that fact.
As he then approached Vickers, though unsteady, he was direct to confronting fickers. His face didn't show the kind of distortion in previous scenes. And, this important, his eyes were dark, almost like they had disappeared, nothing like all the other close ups in th emirror, in the tunels or even in the RT01 travelling back to Prometheus.
No his demeaner just before he met his final seconds alive struck me closer to the Sacrificial Engineer as he calmly drank the goo. In this case Holloway already had the goo and wanted Vickers, by firing him up, to cast him into the waterfall so to speak.
His seeding was not anything in the future because he had already planted alien life into Shaw.
His 'job was done' and he realized that his reign has ended. He must end his life on his own terms.
In any case just check out his eyes before the flames begin,
Be choicelessly aware as you move through life

Fifield was becoming a xeno. The manner in which he was initially subdued - being run over by the space bus - was very similar to the way Ripley took out one of the xenos in Aliens. Ridley is paying homage to Cameron's movie as well as indicating Fifield was probably going the way of a xeno.

Good pick up on Holloway. I thought his "just do it" was meant to calm Vickers down and not in any way aggressive.
