Ok guys, I bet your all shell shocked after that. I personally left with a lot of questions than answers and I honestly don't think it told us much. Don't get me wrong there were nice parts to the film and I'm even planning to go back again to watch it but I really expected a lot more although maybe in the greater scheme of things a sequel is planned and this is were we will get our answers. Personally I thought this film was going to be more space jockey driven but what did we really learn about them, very little 2bh although maybe some of you can help explain a few things first. 1) At the start we see the engineer kill himself to spread his dna but seriously, shouldn't any civalisation as advanced as them have a better way of doing this or was he being punished or some rite of honour? 2) When you see the engineers running and 1 getting beheaded at the door, what were they running from? Surely they should of been running the other way to the space ship and not into the vial room or how come the engineer when he was revived didn't seem in any rush if there was some danger about. (Yeah I know its 2000 years on ;p) 3) Also amongst the group that went with me, some thought the engineers said they had changed their minds about going to earth and only when he had seen what we had become had they changed their minds or had this been the plan all along? Anyway thanks for your help and really hope you enjoyed and if not some parts like myself. For any die hard fan it was good to see the money put into and wasn't some cheap avp production. Fingers crossed it gets the revenue and another prequel sequel so we can get the storyline all alien fans have been longing.

there really are NO ANSWERS for any of these questions, I saw the same movie and had 'similar' and 'other' nagging questions... maybe this whole one hundred and thirty million dollar exercise was to get us all spilling our guts on Facebook just to know who to arrest once Martial Law is implemented. Liked Prometheus, safe Dissed Prometheus, dissident. :)

Yeah, felt that way too... 1st point, I assume to be the creator is some form of honur but at the same time not very scientific so at odds with the intelligence bit so agree with why? sure a better way to start life? 2nd point, I assume if scared you'd run away from the threat and maybe to a secure area - one with the door that killed the engineer - so maybe just that?! 3rd point, need to see again, can't recall that bit too well My take was that the worms were indigenous to the planet, became infected became the snakes? 'got' an engineer and then evolved to something else which chased them....they all died and so did the alien with a lack of food/host (as last engineer cryo'd himself). Black stuff is some form of DNA deccelerant or accelerant unsure which (or if that's it tbh) Anyway, confusing but good...didn't need to be 3d though.

1st - yes , of cause there should be "easier" way to spread their DNA over the planet, but there are also "easier" way for islamist to bomb others, why do some "kamikaze" ... well the islamist thinks he will get some great reward like 77 virgins when he dies that way. But did anyone anytime think about the 77 virgins, if they LIKE to serve him? I bet not... 2nd - i think they run from something they created "by accident", other possibility would be a "superior species" who hunts them (maybe Predators? hehhe - just kiddin..)

3) Also amongst the group that went with me, some thought the engineers said they had changed their minds about going to earth and only when he had seen what we had become had they changed their minds or had this been the plan all along? The best sense I can make would be the time line they set up. The earliest painting showing the so called "invitation" was 35,000 years old. The carbon date on the body of the decapitated spacejockey was only 2,000. So maybe 35,000 years ago they intended to create life, and somewhere along the next 33,000 years something changed.
