Surprised it wasnt a 18 in the UK

Okay so do any other UK viewers think Prometheus was seriously pushing the 15 boundary? I mean there were two scenes (coincidentally my favourite) that I’m really surprised didn’t make it an 18. Med pod scene, I was half expecting the camera to pull away or focus on Noomi’s facial expression when it started slicing and pulling her skin apart, but no, shows us everything! Fifield garage attack scene, okay I know this scene was edited and changed into oblivion (blu ray will hopefully restore it) but the brutality and violence really had me going and shaking slightly. (P.S. I’m not one of those whinny Daily Mail readers that goes on about violence in cinema and games, just making an observation.)

i agree ...they had to make the belly cut very clean BUT there is surely more gore than Aliens , Alien 3 and Alien resurrection and of Alien without the kane scene .

And again, conflicting opinions here also. I keep seeing it's not gory enough. Someone in another thread mentioned having no issues letting their twelve-year old watch it.

I thought it was pretty gorey (the mutated fifield was particularly gorey scene and brutal) but it wasnt as gorey as say Alien Resurrection, that seemed to have more blood spurting everywhere were as prometheus the violence was quick, sudden and almost blippy. It was a pretty dark film, maybe a few more gorey scenes would of made it a 18

Wow Maiafay, I consider myself fairly liberal on things like this, but i would have thought 12 was pushing it. Hmm, the hugely different views on this film are starting to remind me of the Mass Effect 3 ending reception. Lets wait until our US brethern watch it and set the forum on fire.

Ha. I thought the exact opposite. It felt like a 12A (PG13) movie to me. Everything felt watered down. There was no real sense of threat or peril. All the gore scenes looked tightly trimmed to me. Even Shaw's cesarean scene was pretty rushed.

I didn't think it was that gory TBH. Yes the medpod scene was a little bit but it wasn't that bad.
