one more thing lol sorry ... the reason for all the mutations in this movie is because the virus finds a way get back to its original form of life ( first the squid baby then the xeno) naturally or through genetic coincidence (shaw and halloway mating) i have not seen the picture yet so this is purely speculation based on the info ive gained from this web site cant wait to see it

It isn't just the black goo wee see in this movie that has a possibility of making life !! When the crew enter the temple we see david messing about with letters. He ends up with a green goo on his hands, He touches it and small green lights something maybe biomechanical DNA even who knows! Then we see the black goo and we know what that dose changes cells as hinted at, When they are messing about with the engineers head so this is the start of a mutation changing cells DNA into something else but not creating life. In my view its speeding life up rapidly! My theory is they are not creating life but engineering life in the way they want to! But life can not be controlled and elevation happens in all walks of life. They didnt like what we became and wanted to wipe us out!? So they created the xeno mybe form there own DNA much like they did us, But that whent wrong also the xenos evolved became smart etc etc
