Q's: Destroying Earth? Different Alien (Not Bio-Mechanoid)?

I believe that the new creature is just a prototype...Not a definitive Xenomorph...but who knows. And the Space Jockeys want to destroy the human race, because 2000 years ago humans killed Jesus Christ/Engineer :-p LOL just kidding ...

But 'create' what? You know what I thought of, the Space Jockey's unleashed their DNA on earth, and how many thousands of years passed, until Humans evolved. But what if they did this because they wanted it to be a testing ground. they wanted to test their Bio-Weapons, on these Humans in order to refine the bio-weapons, make them more perfect, like you said, that Alien creature in Prometheus could be a prototype an un-refined version of the Xenomorph. and earth was the testing ground.

What a great movie! Well done Ridley,Damon and movie crew! I think the Space jockeys are aggressive and predatory species. The only thing that goes against this hypothesis is the Kamikaze by the SJ to seed the earth, as predators usually dont do that. What is so sickening is that, Mr.Weyland was so selfish that he funded the trillion dollar project to attain immortality rather than seeking the answers for existential questions that Mankind have. David is a weapon. Mr.Weyland was using this weapon to attain his goal. When the SJ wakes up from HS, there is no empathy from David and Mr.Weyland to even check if he was fine. They were hell bent on trying to make the SJ spit out the secrets of immortality!(Shaw's pleading to seek answers for existential questions didn't help). SJ had no avenue but to get rid of the weapon(David) and the attackers(Mankind). Further SJ who shares the aggressive and selfish traits of his seedlings mankind wants to complete his goal ASAP ( that is destroying the earth with WMD for the reasons we can only speculate). May be SJ wanted to return to the home parent as a Hero! I am not sure why everyone is blaming Ridley and Damon for ruining the movie. It is a great movie where the message that is clearly visible is that even perfect creation or evolution do not lead to any thing meaningful if the species(Creator and/or creation) have basic traits of aggression, predatory nature and greed! Now that Mr.Weyland is gone David will rather try and connect to the creators of his creators! It is inevitable! Ms.Shaw you are in big trouble! Can't wait for part two of this great movie!

How does David know so much about the Engineer and their tech. Remember that scene where he just randomly punch the hieroglyphics and boom, open sesame. David: "I am attempting to open the door.." How does he know those carvings are buttons? I feel that Weyland has a previous expedition before this.

No one has really attempted on answering the questions I initially proposed. However I'll answer EGR101's question. In those 2 years in which everyone was in Hypersleep, David broke down all the ancient languages (presumably the languages of those civilizations they found pictograms from at the start) to their initial point, trying to find similarites between all languages at square one, i.e. finding the influence of all languages by those alien species. Hence he was able to understand the hieroglyphs. This was mentioned between a conversion in the pilot's room between Holloway, Shaw and David, and the conversation ends with Shaw laughing, and Holloway says: 'what are you laughing at' or something similiar to that.
