Now having watched Prometheus more than once , on my second and third outings .. I have been able to draw on different aspects of the movie that I enjoyed , no loved ! and think I understand where many of the negative responses have come from ... 1 LOST ? many of the negative views posted here and elsewhere are coming from an anti-LOST brigade of people who are holding a grudge agaisnt Lindelof ... he is getting most if not all of the blame. 2 I understand the story. On first viewing , I understood the movie almost completely .. on 2nd and 3rd ... it's quite easy actually ... 3 The direction is by a guy on top of his game , you forget this movie is even in 3D as the scenes are shot with such perfection. 4 The ENGINEERS , THE MONSTERS and SPECIAL EFFECTS ... are quite amazing and the set, really refelcts the ALIEN UNIVERSE .. the Prometheus Spaceship itself is perfectly created and looks fantastic .. 5 The Score is just beautiful , I missed that the first time , but now , when you hear it , it really does work , with creating atmosphere and building tension ... Are the reviewers wrong ? some of the best and well known critics across the world have now posted their thoughts on PROMETHEUS and they mostly agree, that although not perfect .. and I would agree, it still really is a fantasic and beautiful movie that does ask questions, but that is what good movies should do ... and this does is abundance ... I love coming away from a movie .. thinking ... what was that about then ? i don't like to be spoon-fed ... i like to digest , discuss and interprete the ideas and philosophies ... And PROMETHEUS does this because , it is an intelligent movie that requires thought and perhaps an amount of wisdom to understand the ideas at play here ... Perhaps this is why when the set pieces come , they almost feel , ill-judged or just wrong , because one minute we are thinking deep and meaningful and then a guy is being mouth raped by a monster , or a hero is given birth to another monstrosity ... Then we have the ending , which really starts in the middle of the movie , with one set piece after another .... so much stuff is up there , set pieces , dialogue , story ... almost too much ... then we get hit without the pay-off , and people get upset ... yet we know that Prom 2 and perhaps 3 , who knows maybe a TV series .. could be on the horizon ... if you watched Lord of the Rings on it's own , it dosen't work , does it ? you get my drift here .... re-evaluate it .. it is really is a magic movie, flawed ... not perfect ... but some great movies are ... this is more of an Inception type movie ... rather than something like The Raid which is just adrenalin pumped non stop action type movie which is pure class btw ... Blow away the mis-conceptions , blow away your bias ... and re-watch this very clever, thought provoking and intelligent movie ...

Well Said Im off for my third sitting later. Though I am aware of its problamatic counterpoints... I am reminded of the panning Alien got upon its release. Esp the lack of explanation and expantion for the Space Jockey. Ironic. lets face it. Reality is a bleedin mystery let alone a 2 hour film.. Enjoy.

Glad you enjoyed it, even though I didn't... BTW... 1) Never even watched an episode of Lost. 2) I understand the story also... it's just muddled and rushed and not entertaining at all. 3) The direction seems like it's all over the place and gets lost in some unknown translation 4) I thought the creature effects looked nothing like anything that fit into the Alien universe. I've re-watched the movie a few times now, and still come to the same conclusion. The only reason I'm pointing this out is because some of you seem to think that those of us who didn't enjoy it, somehow missed something. the only one who missed something was Ridley Scott... he missed the mark. 5) i thought the score was out of place and seemed just thrown in for background noise. 4)
