1. If the opening sequence implies the Engineers started life on earth then how do the ancient civilizations know what they looked like and about the star system, life began 600 million + years ago. 2. If the star system they point to isnt the engineers home world but in fact a nasty weapons building facility why point it out ?? 3. What are the maggoty things we see in the soil when they first enter the Ampule room ? 4. Where do the Cobra things come from. 5. Why does the black goo melt Fifields mask when he falls in it but not Davids finger. 6. Why does Fifield, a seasoned explorer of alien world and operator of the mapping tools get lost ?? 7. Why is the proto-hugger so big when it grew in a human but the proto-Xeno is normal size yet grew in the Jockey?? also the sound track was totally wrong, Alien and Aliens music helped with the whole "Oh S*^t we are dead" element and the general hopelessness of it all but this was all ' Bom Baaa Ba ba da da daaaa, we are all soooooo noble and the human spirit will win in the end Da da daaaaaa " It was good though, beautifully made.

Can i give my opinion for question number 4, the cobra is it came from the worm that david and the rest of the crew visit thechamber with the humanoid head and cylinders surrounding. I think we all saw the worms that david step on it at first, and the cylinder start to release dark liquid and making the worms to "grow" into a cobra form? is this make sense??

1] Maybe the engineers visited from time to time? 2] No idea. 3] Maybe just alien maggots? 4]The alien maggots I think. 5] I dont think it melts it. The snakes blood melts it. 6] No idea...although it could still happen I guess...just not likely. 7] No idea again. The squid was in Shaw for at least 10 hours and mightve been in her longer if she had not had it removed.... As you can see, Im completely lost myself lol Too many things they could be to know for certain.

1, WhyDontTheyFreezeHim 2, 6 or what stars point at a pretty big region, not that particular moon and we can't know for sure it's a weapon facility. 3, WhyDontTheyFreezeHim OR (they did look earthly) it came now with the crew or in the past with the engineers when they came from earth 4, as WhyDontTheyFreezeHim, it looks like that's it. 5, like WhyDontTheyFreezeHim when he cuts peginasnake the acid blood melts his mask, and then he falls with his face exposed in the black flake of doom. 6, To be honest i don't remember if they were really lost, or just to late because of the storm and got stuck there. 7, There i would answer It's not a proto-xeno coming out of Engineer but rather a proto-chestburster (and that is bigger thand the Alien one) if it is proto anything to begin with. Hope that helped a little ;)

Just to add some more detail. 2. - the moon was the only place that could support life within the star system of the cave drawings, that's why the team went there. Shaw and Holloway didn't really know what the drawings were for. She just hypothesized it was an invitation. She was wrong. 6. - He was scared and just figured out he was created and not just evolved from some single cell organism. You don't think straight and can get lost if you're all panicking and freaking out, and he was.

1) We can assume they came back. 2) I think at some point they actually say that the drawings are humans worshipping creatures pointing to the stars, the things pointing aren't actually humans, but the Space Jockey's themsleves (I think!). If not, then they may well not have known wat the hell it was, but rather knew they flew there from that planet somehow. 3) Essentally worms. 4) The Cobra things are the worms! You see the worms going into the liquid which then either mutates them, or they die and their DNA is planted allowing the cobra things to evolve. (I think the first is more likely). 5) The black liquid doesn't do anything, when Fifield tries to cut the creature, the blood goes over his helmet and starts to melt it. He then falls into the liquid and happens to have it all over his helmet when the acid gets through the glass. 6) He's a moron. 7) I don't know that one, the big fucker at the end obviously just grew that big, but Prometheus leaves alot of questions purposefully unanswered about how the situation of the planet when the Nostromo gets there comes about. (Like how a Space Jockey ended up fossilized in the chair) ..As for the soundtrack, I know what you mean, I liked most of it but some bits at the start were too sort of 2001: A Space Odyssey and didn't fit with the theme all that much. But it was a different composer to that of Alien, so.. Loved the film though! :3

In regard to the last poster, keep in mind that the planet we see in Prometheus is not the planet from the first Alien movie, which explains why we don't see ANY of the pieces we would expect to see (dead jockey in the chair, egg chamber, etc.). Also, the world in Prometheus is life-sustaining or somewhat so (as proven by the characters in discussing the world, saying that it is the only earthlike planet in the system). The world in Alien, by contrast, is extremely hostile and barren. The movie provides us proof in the names of the planets, as well: Prometheus = LV223, Alien = LV426. This is a purposeful distinction on the part of the writers, and I think provides the clearest indication that we can expect more to come in the storyline (I'm thinking another two movies at the least). Also, MCole pretty much answers all the other questions beautifully. Had a thought about the black goo, though, and it kept recurring to me throughout the movie. I think the black goo is essentially chaos. When it is consumed by a host organism, there is really no telling what it will do. This would explain the wide variance in creatures and effects. But one thing SEEMS to be clear, and that's that it promotes evolution on some level. It is a catalyst, from which new life emerges. Of course, this is all my own speculation. Thoughts anyone?

About Fitfield getting lost, he supplied the pups only. The pups supply the geographical info to the vessel. He had no instrument to show him the layout of the structure. As for the gigantic trilobite. Remember that this is before the facehugger era. Well before. This gives the trilobite and the deacon juvenille to evolve over time. Plus throughout the whole movie the black Goo does seem to produce different creatures depending on the biological structure of its host. Keep in mind that the Deacon was designed based on its infected. So you have the Goo mixed with Halloway, Shaw, and the Space Jockey. But really my primary explanation would be the trilobite being the first facehugger ever, ancestor if you will. Same for the Deacon.
