I've seen the movie twice now, if you watch the UK trailer you can clearly hear the skipper say 'Prometheus Has Landed' but in the actual movie he doesn't say it! Before you watch the movie have a listen to the trailer and let me know if you hear him say it in the movie!

There are lots of things in the trailers not in the movie. Apart from unused scenes and dialogue, or dialogue moved to other visuals ('A king has his reign') there are things like the crude layering of PROMETHEUS over the hull of the ship. Instead of 'Prometheus has landed', we get the equally cringe-worthy, 'We come in peace for all mankind'.

Thats correct... And there are many other things that dont make the movie... Some also by clever edits of the movie for the Trailer... I actually like that dialog and it should had been added...

this is something i noticed too, isnt this fraudulent to do that, i was actually waiting for janek to say those words from the trailer, that i was left wondering why they would even omit that from the movie but show it in the trailer. like seriously why. which leads me to believe there is ALOT that has been cut from the movie.

I don't feel it's "fraudulent" per se, but sometimes the editors who create the trailers are better than the ones who cut the feature... SAD.

I personally think the UK trailer gives too much away!

of course its fraudulent, if you saw a commercial for a car that had a certain feature, then you buy said car, cuz you cant try it before you buy it,and realise it doesnt have that feature what else could that be but fraudulent. And why would the people who have cut the trailer have more access to the footage. I mean we didnt have to see janek say the words. edris has a pretty distinct voice. but it was elimated anyway.

This reminds me of PREDATORS trailer where Adrian Brodie has like what seems to be 100 of those red triangular red light aiming spots on him. In the movie that scene never happened, and there were not even anywhere near that many Predators..talk about fraudulent advertising. I was really waiting for that scene to happen in the movie, LOL.

Man, I'm glad I don't have to hear "Prometheus has landed" or the more recent "THE Prometheus has landed" with extra emphasis on the "the" like in the recent tv spots. I've heard it so much on the radio and tv and net that it was really getting annoying. This is good news. As far as other stuff they've cut, that probably sucks. I'll see in a bit!

Good lord. I've seen plenty of movies like this where the trailers come out and then the movie is released, only to find that there are scenes and dialog from the trailers that aren't in the movie. Does nobody realize how much editing goes on from the time that a trailer is released to when the movie comes out? Has nothing to do with being clever or misinformation/misdirection. Sometimes, a trailer is released from footage from the dailies by the studio's marketing department without the director's involvement, and the director uses a different take from a scene for the final cut of the film than what was used for the trailer.
