Making Sense of Plot Holes

The two plot holes I'm going to focus on are 1) The whole wrong planet thing (LV-426 vs LV-322) and 2) The fact that in Alien they found the Engineer in his ship however in Prometheus he died in the 'Life Boat'. The only conclusion I can draw from this is the fact that Ridley Scott decided not to tell us what happens in the space between Prometheus and Alien. We just don't know.
From what I can gather LV-426 is either the large ringed planet or another moon like LV-322 (personally I think it's another moon). It doesn't really matter what it is because I'm about to try and explain the two plot holes. At the end of the film, if the new born alien was a queen (which it must have been) and got onto one of the other war ships that were talked about then it could have started laying eggs there. It could also have awakened the Engineer in that particular ship. He would then have taken off to get to Earth only to realise then there are Xenomorphs on his ship. He could then have been infected with alien eggs and crashed on LV-426 (this is why it doesn't matter if it's a moon or another planet, either way, he crashed there). The alien inside him would then have burst from his chest WHILE HE WAS IN HIS CHAIR. And of course that would be the ship and alien eggs founded by Rilley and her crew in Alien.
This is only an interpretation as like I said, we just do not know. The link between Prometheus and Alien is not clear to us enough to know what actually went on afterwards. All I've given to you is what I think might have happened, logically.
