A few plotholes debunked

1. The snap time lapse between Earth - Prometheus - LV-223.
This is kind of a simple one; it would have taken far too long to show the journey. They supplemented this quick adjustment with their viral marketing; showing Shaw begging Weyland to take her to LV-223. In the end, Prometheus would've been closer to 3 hours than 2 hours.
2. They found the temple way too quick. There's an entire planet down there!
This one is also sort of simple as well. If any alien dropped down on Earth they wouldn't have to go far to find a human settlement, because we're nearly everywhere. In this same thinking, the movie leads us to believe that this facility was used as a weapon's research development. It only makes sense there would have been lots of these little outposts all over the planet if they're using this planet purely for research and development. How can you make a weapon faster? More production facilities of course! So I don't believe the temple they found was 'special,' just common to LV-223.
3. Fifield gets lost, yet he has probes and a map?
This one is a little tricky for me. Honestly, the best explanation I can give is he was really wasted when they started back to the ship, and kept 'forgetting' where to go. I also think that storm was a lot faster than the movie was leading us to believe. It wouldn't have taken them a very long time to miss the window of opportunity to leave. I know this isn't the best explanation, but at least it -is- an explanation.
4. Shaw cuts out her squid baby, but Weyland and David don't seem to care?
There are a couple explanations for these. I'm going to go with the simple one first. Weyland, and David don't care because they already know. The primary concern for Weyland was finding a cure for his age, and David performed an experiment with Holloway that led to Shaw's pregnancy. By that logic they would have been interested in what Shaw was carrying. Well, she got it out, and it's safely in the medpod(?). So, why should they be upset? They got what they wanted. The squidbaby.
Second explanation is a lot more complex. David by far is the most interesting character in the story for me personally. He has far more agendas than at face value. David could have had admiration for Shaw's survival instincts (which he makes note of) and decides to give Shaw a break. He keeps the squidbaby on the downlow, and just let's her have this victory without informing Weyland. Weyland notices she's covered in blood and has a huge cut, yet does nothing? Of course he does nothing. He's an egotistical, self-centered scum of a human! They're in a hostile area, and wounds are going to happen. If he doesn't know about the squidbaby, why should he care about what happens to some insignificant researcher?
5. The Space Jockey Pilot goes nerdrage, and randomly kills David / Weyland for no reason?
This one the movie hands to you on a platter. Just before they head to the Space Jockey David says "Don't we all want to kill our parents?" This leads to the answer that David said something to invoke the murderfest of the Space Jockey in hopes that it would kill Weyland. Now, as I said before David is the most complex character in the whole movie. You really have to know a little bit about David's psychology to understand why he wants to kill Weyland. I'll save that for a later discussion since the movie feeds you the line to justify David pissing off the Space Jockey enough to kill Weyland.
Also to make note of the Space Jockey, he didn't seem at all surprised to see humans. In fact he got up, and started stretching! (He bent down and bounced a little to gather his bearings). Once he got up it really looked as if he was just going to ignore the humans. You can even see the Space Jockey is a little surprised when Shaw begins to shout at him. Only after David speaks to him does he give a little smirk, pat him, then proceed his nerdrage.
6. Why does Shaw send a transmission if the Prometheus is destroyed, and she's not heading to Earth for any humans to hear it?
Another simple answer. She's sending out a warning to anyone following up their mission. Other people of the Weyland company must have known Weyland was going. After a decade or so with no return from Weyland, you better bet your butt that someone would have sent a team out in search for him! Shaw is simply trying to warn humans away, and even gives the answer to Weyland's disappearance. He's dead. There's only death here. Go away.
7. (*EDIT* I'm adding this edit before people begin to nerdrage. This explanation is -purely- my opinion. This is simply how I interpret this plot point. It goes against what many posts / viewers of Prometheus believe about the black goo.) What is up with the black goo?! First it seeds life, now it's mutating worms and deconstructing Holloway, but then explodes a Space Jockey head?! Wtf?!
This for me was the biggest problem I had with the movie. I actually made an entire thread on an explanation for this one plothole (http://www.prometheus-movie.com/community/forums/topic/7310). I'll try to summarize it here. The black goo is a contagious bio-weapon. This goo was actually never used to seed any life, since the space jockey's would have been able to simply narrow out their DNA and plop it in Earth's water. (Shaw narrowed out human DNA with a laser... I think a higher life-form could have done similar). So in the end, the black goo doesn't create any life at all, only death - Shaw, "There's only death here."
If I missed any plotholes that you feel were important, please let me know and I'll adjust my post.
