Better than Alien!

It was a good movie, just the pace could have been better, given it a longer running time. :)

Excellent film. Way better than I had expected, after all the negativity floating about. Eagerly looking forward to the next installment!

I think that maybe all the sturm and drang over supposed "plot holes" made the rest of us really pay attention to how it held together, and IMO it held together quite well.

Juxtapose : I'm right there with you! Just got back from my first viewing of Prometheus! The film is an out-and-out masterpiece! A great movie that is also a first rate piece of sci-fi. I love Alien but Prometheus just blows it away.

Don't think I have ever seen a more perfect film in this genre...ever. "Pace", your kidding right, because while I was watching it I thought wow..."Svanya is going to FREAK at how AMAZING this thing is and immediately feel all better"...but...THIS is your problem with it...?...the complaint we heard from over 300 people leaving the theater was why the movie felt like it was only 5 minutes long, or rather, flew by like it was, leaving the viewer completely wanting more and like a spent lover rolling over to blindly be searching with a an out stretched over head arm grab for the smokes.

Drugs are bad...VERY bad. ;) But seriously, you guys are entitled to your opinion of course, but I need to say that I couldnt disagree more. Please dont compare Prometheus to my Alien. You will make me cry. @Sparty - Im in shock of this thread to be honest! I dont believe Ive ever seen a more perfect film in this genre than ALIEN. I dont see Alien ever getting beat actually.

aline has NOTING on Prometheus other than Parker Breaking wind IMHO ! The banter between janek and Vickers was awesome and reminded me of the same between Rilep8 & Johnner in Resurrection but only it was way way way way better !!!

WhyDontTheyFreezeHim, your going to tell me that 1979 directing is better than a 21st century state of the art sci-fi thriller/horror that's in 3-D? Wow. I won't argue tha Alien is definitely a classic, a one of a kind of it's time, but I think Prometheus definetlt broke some innovative barriers in modern day filming.

Reading anecdotes and reviews, I notice there appears to be a group of people who REALLY love the movie and REALLY dislike the movie. I happen to be of the opinion Prometheus is, and will be considered, one of the [b]all-time best adult science fiction movies[/b]. This is exactly why the movie is polarizing. Alien appealed to a broader audience than the group of people who appreciate science fiction. Alien also appealed to people who like horror films, slasher movies and gore. Aliens pulled in an additional group of people who like action and military films. Now, all those groups of people go see Prometheus expecting what satisfied them from Alien and Aliens. Prometheus is a work of science fiction and mythology. The people who came to Prometheus looking for a slasher movie or a kick ass military smackdown will naturally be disappointed.
