Prior to watching the movie I posted "I hope the writers don't use the "Seriously???" stupid expression so overused in almost every comedy of the last few years. Imagine my dismay when I hear Holloway say: "This is just one small step for man kind"to which Shaw replies in Emma Stone tone: "Seriously???" Guys, we are in the year 2093, you cannot come up with something better than that?

In the end, Holloway wasn't such a douchebag after all. That was an interesting surprise, and added a bit of pathos to his demise.

I prefer "really" to "seriously" for a long shot. But I reckon "dude" would have been bad! lol

I was pleasantly surprised by Holloway's character, still an a**hole but not as much as a douchebag as suspected. Shaw's expression after Holloway says "This is just one small step for mankind." is perfection.

Maybe we must remember that writers have to make dialogue that the general audience can identify with and "seriously" fits well in that moment as people of today watching that scene would probably say the same thing. Shaw is the audience's vehicle through the film.
