I am sorry if this has been discussed before, but are the Engineers the 'perfect' human that we would eventually evolve into?

No. We humans (And apparently ALL animal and plant life) are an off-shoot of the Engineer 'genome'/'DNA'/'Biological Essence'. I don't think it has anything to do with 'perfection'. Just origins. This is my own theory: The engineers are just another part of their Bio-Tech. They didn't create the technology, they are a part of the technology, and the REAL creators are yet to be seen.
