MemberOvomorphJun-09-2012 12:22 PMMarc Streitenfeld probably listened to a lot of Jerry Goldsmith when he was scoring the movie. Goldsmith scored "Alien" and also quite a bit of Star Trek. He may have then listened to other Star Trek themes and thought an homage would be appropriate for a story where the mission is to "seek out new life and new civilisations" etc.

MemberOvomorphJun-09-2012 1:29 PMTotally with you on the homage Evan, also when Weyland gave his speech at the start, the music was very reminiscent of Alien.

MemberOvomorphJun-18-2012 5:53 PMThe straight rip off of the Star Trek theme completely ruined the film for me. And it was present throughout the film, every time I would start to get into it, the star trek theme would start to play, an effing joke right? I was actually thinking that Ridley Scott obviously had never seen Star Trek so when the idiot scoring the film brought his Plagiarized version for Ridley to hear, he thought it was original or something. Either that or its a terrible Joke. Unforgivable gaffe! How do you go from Alien to Propieceofshit! Terrible Film with a few good moments! Shame on you Ridley Scott! The fact that you have made several great and classic films should help you to survive this total and complete debacle. Sad thing is that you haven't made a truly good film since Gladiator IMHO. YIKES!
